Like I said, I wouldn't normally sell you out, but I'm not going to stand idly by while you bash a longtime, well-respected poster like Cindy so you don't have to take the heat.
(I'm not saying she's innocent, BTW, just that I don't buy that she's necessarily worthy of being thrown under the bus by you.)Last edited by Nuclear Dish; 07-15-2005 at 12:27 AM.

I have to agree with Nuc on this one. If you did it, atleast take it like a man.

I did NOT do any of the the things I am being accused of. I resent being called a liar.
Ive only given rep points for posts I like. As far as I can remember ,Ive always left a comment.
Someone is somehow using my name apparently.
I am deeply hurt by all of this
Thank You Nucelar Dish and Baltimore Bird for trying to defend me.
I am not desperate my aNY means to get free tickets..I have season tickets.
I am very very hurt and upset.

07-15-2005 11:19 AM #64It's as if giving rep points were a crime.

It's not that he sees it as a crime, but Tony wants the rep points to be an accurate gauge of a posters worth. He doesn't want someone's rep to be skewed in any one direction frivolously.

Having rep points at all is just asking for trouble/corruption. Why do we even need that feature?

I have to agree, though I figure if we're gonna have it, realize that its not entirely accurate sometimes.

07-15-2005 12:16 PM #68I don't think he's suggesting it's criminal, either. I agree with your solution, but I don't know if it will be quite as practical and simple as it seems on the surface.

07-15-2005 12:27 PM #69I personally don't need to see the rep level to know you have a good reputation. If you take said effort time and thought, it shows automatically. Just like out here in meatspace. We don't walk around with little pips next to our heads. We gain reputation person to person, experience by experience. I've always considered the rep system here to be somewhat accurate. It's generally much more accurate towards the negative side than the positive, I've found, because once someone gets two pips or so, people start giving them reps more often. They see that this person is already "reputable" so they give borderline posts positive reps.

I think that's exactly what she's saying, boss. Check out the Rants section.

OK, this is the official "I'm sorry" to Cindy. It appears Sun hacked her account and gave himself a bunch of rep points as well as others. After hearing some stories from other posters about things Sun was doing, the poster has been banned from the site. This poster has been nothing but trouble since the beginning and it's about time we got back to normal around here.
Let's put this whole thing behind us and move on.
Again Cindy, I'm sorry I thought you would do such things but your account was telling me you were. It's amazing what a twerp can do around here.

Well holy crap! That wasn't cool of him at all. Hacking someone's account to just dole out reps...what was his malfunction?

Hopefully it is but we're looking into legal avenues against this guy. He's now hacked our board several times under several usernames so we're now going to go after him legally. It's our last resort, but the idiot costs us time and money to deal with him time and time again and I'm finally fed up.
He either really has a bug up his butt for this place or has serious mental issues to keep finding ways to get back on. It's ashamed but it's part of the price we pay for our success.
