    I had (only) heard of Soft Machine before. Listened to this, really just in the background, while I perused the Hangout. And this just grew and grew! I searched on Wiki... these guys toured with Hendrix "THROUGHOUT 1968"!!! Andy Summers played with them early that year but was FIRED before Soft Machine reunited with Hendrix.

    This (FULL! Thanks weams!) album was released June '70. WONDERFUL flutes too! OMG this album is PERFECT!

    An early jazz connection for Hendrix? On his death it was said that he had talked a lot to Miles Davis about a collaboration. Had studio plans for it, IIRC...







    EDIT: An EARLIEST jazz connection for Hendrix would be Hugh Masekela!
