I LOVE the music from this era! 69-70-71. And later. So angry. So funky.

I played a black Flying V just like that one! When I bought my Strat. Bill's Music in Towson. It was a little too much more money and the V din't have a whammy bar, which I NEEDED then...

And y'all wanna know what I was listening to? In 1978?

    All the radio stuff.

    And Shooze

    Poobah
    "Through These Eyes"

Shooz and Poobah at Wayne's Bar Pool Splashhops

Kix practicing in Jimmy Chalfant's home garage... on my two block bike ride to my best friend's house. Lot's of peeps were Andy's best friend. He had the coolest pad around. Him and all his brothers. There we listened to a lot of John Hartford Aereoplane and Todd Rundgren - A Wizard / A True Star. And btw stared at the Todd album cover/liner notes for HOURS on end... All the while acting like cater-pillars on the B-Boy's hooka.

In some ways better than "Dazed and Confused"

Chicks and guitars... that just keep AFFECTING my very soul. As the years go by. In newest first chronological order.

    Someday...

How many times must I ask mercy on me?

Cuz I've seen some hard hard places come down in smoke and ash..

Some people say I've done alright for a girl.

    Foxy Shazam!

And just seeing that vid for the first time myself... came to post a couple refs That I heard in the song... and seeing the vid I see even MORE old refs!

I hear Led Zepp in the first vocal strains.

Then when the first chorus dawns I hear Imperial Drag from the nineties.

Watching the vid I see Freddie Merc and KISS! A little Rick James for spice. Top hat guitarist is Slash and James Brown moves.

Video staging/directing is pure Beastie Sabotage.

And Nick Johnson's (former) porn 'stache.
