    Short rants.

    Things I "hate":

Playing smart poker yet someone sucking out and beating your hand on the river.

Breaking a bone in your arm.

Typing with one hand because of breaking your arm.

The "No Child Left Behind Act".

    Microsoft.

Drivers who you can tell are talking on their cell phones before you are close enough to see, because of their poor driving skills.

Most of the Channel 13 Newsteam. (And I'm sorry - it's not "news" to tell me what's coming up on 'Entertainment Tonight').

Cold rain. It's just cruel to be that close to snow and not be snow.

The repeated, yet erratic, unsolicited delivery of the Baltimore Examiner. One more thing to clean up every day.

That's enough for now. Very cathartic. Feel free to join in with your own short rantings & ravings.

I agree with you whole-heartedly there. There is nothing worse than standardized tests.

    Baroquen,

Are we long-lost twin brothers? I agree with all of your "rants" and can definitely picture some of them right now!

    How about this phrase:

The "insert name"'s of the world....

    Example:

The Kobe Bryant's, Dwanye Wade's of the world...

    I have one

The Chest/Back/Butt bump. Basically any celebration that involves two players jumping into the air and bumping each other

Will it ever go away? Football, Basketball, it even found its way into my church softball league It is tired, memo to all athletes: Please Stop!!!

    Oh, boy. Here goes:

-When you go to the fridge and there's 1/4" of juice left in the bottom of the container. Or one scoop of sour cream. Or half a bagel's worth of cream cheese.

    -People who cut in line.

-People who drift over in their lane, don't use/don't turn off their blinkers, don't know what "yield" means, ride in the breakdown lane to jump around slow traffic, drive slow on merge ramps, or drive while on their cell phones.

-Being thought of as pond scum because I don't like classic rock. I see nothing inspiring about Neil Young, Pearl Jam, or any of those groups. So sue me.

-Guys who curse hardcore and talk about smut in front of girls. Maybe I'm old-fashioned. But it really bothers me.

-People who light up and then blow smoke in my face.

-Anal-retentive grading of chemistry problem sets and biology lab reports, especially when they're graded by TA's. You guys were in my boat 2 years ago. Show a little mercy.

-People who don't clean up after themselves, especially re: dishes and toilets.

    -Weather below 25 degrees.

Bothers me too. Even more so in front of kids, though.

And baroquen, I don't mind getting sucked out on the river occasionally. I hate it when people think they played good poker but really just had a lucky night.

Also hate the popular message board phrase, "'Nuff said."

    - People who proceed to walk right into the elevator as the doors open, acting as if no one needs to exit the elevator first.
    - Political correctness (we've really taken it to absurd levels)
    - People that stop at the top of an on-ramp and try to merge, despite the fact they have a decent sized merge lane.
    - Spelling shortcuts -- i.e. "ur", "r", "u", "b4", etc...
    - The MTV generation
    - People at work who hold a conversation right in the entrance of a room, making it difficult for other people to gain access to said room.
    - The "its" "it's" and "lose" "loose" confusions.
    - The pond scum who dislikes classic rock.
    - Guys who talk in the men's room. I'm there to do one thing, okay?

On I-95 this morning, I saw an 18-wheeler almost merge right on top of a sedan! Luckily, the sedan lady saw it in time and merged over, but I wanted to punch that guy in the face - he literally could have killed someone!

You did choose to go to school in Minnesota, right?

Well, you know it will be soon enough. Like how they don't play anything from the '60s on Classic Rock stations anymore. It's like they can only play stuff from one two-decade span.

In a similar vein, people who do that on the Metro.

Nothing brings out the worst in me more than that except for the guy that calls the blinds with his 7-2 off suit to my J-Q Suited, calls the bets, calls the raises, gets a J-Q-2 on the flop, 7 on the turn, and 2 on the river and acts like it was all skill. "I just knew I had it the whole time!" Grrrrrr!!!

Thank God my wife and I have the means (BARELY) to put my son through private school. The NCLBA was one of my biggest gripes with his old school.
