I got my Bachelor's in geography, but I'm not a big GIS guy, and that's where most of the jobs are these days. The one job I had didn't extensively utilize GIS, but jobs that don't frequently use it or extensive spatial statistics are few. More recently I've turned to higher education administration as an avenue - it's still growing, and the pay is okay. I'm looking at grad programs in it and have been trying to get jobs (positions in admissions and other things of that nature). Unfortunately I've had no success, even when trying to get jobs at the community college and the university I graduated from (after being an involved student at and graduating with highest honors from both places). I try not to complain too much about it, but it is frustrating in the extreme....

I remember that Andrew Rickli name. He got 500 posts and left. He came back with another handle, casually mentioned his name and got busted. Amusing that it was him that came back as StrawDawg. The guy reeks of trust!

I've been home sick for 3 days in a row for the first time since 8th grade. Stomach flu sucks.

Last night at the grocery store:
Checkout Lady to dumb biatch in front of me wearing Red Sox shirt: "Oh are you a Sox fan too?"
Dumb biatch: "Well we went to Boston a few years ago on vacation and ended up going to a game, so you KNOW I had to buy a shirt."
Me grumbling: "F&*%ing douchebags."

It's really great when you try to have an enjoyable hobby, and so many people in it act like they're still in high school even though they're all around 30. F^&%ing millennials make me sick, and ashamed to share a demographic.

It was a moment of enlightenment.
