Cover Charges at Bars
Does anyone else understand this other that letting the owner pocket straight money? It is if you going to your favorite bar and you plan on having about a 50 dollar bar tab. But then you walk up to the door, and some cocky preppy white kid or an enormously large black guy says "Two Dollars". Two dollars, what the hell. I need pay two dollars to get into a bar in which I already plan to spend at least a 50. I think this is total BS, especially on a Friday or Saturday. A lot of people say, its for the entertainment, when it is usually 6 high schoolers playing good music and probably getting paid 300 dollars for a show, total BS.
The money is going straight to the owner and it is a huge scam. It is like walking to someone's party and them saying "Hey its 5 dollars for the keg, and 3 dollars to get into the door."
I protest from going to any place that has a cover charge, my personal opinion.
Edit: The worst is Seacrets in O.C. The "Beat the Clock" load of crap. Get there at 9 o'clock, pay 9 dollars, get there at 10 o'clock, pay 10 dollars, and etc. You freakin charge $3.75 for a can of beer, is there really a COVER CHARGE needed? I know you need to pay the entertainment, but you can fit an enormous amount of people in there that are buying overpriced beer by the gallons!
