Bedard literally has the Best Pitched Game this season
Ladies and germs, one of the hotter (and dumber) topics this year on the OH has been Erik Bedards lack of complete games during his major league career. Some people think he's not that great because he doesn't have one... "How can an ace not have a complete game?" they whine.
Well, he's taking the hill for the bottom of the 9th, working on a 2 hit 12k shutout.
This could be it! Hold on! Let's see if Bedard can make the leap from really good pitcher to "Ace" with one half inning!

Holy crap. What a beautiful performance by Bedard. I think he was a bit annoyed with the murmurings of some saying Guthrie is the new ace of the staff.

Faced the minimum.
Struck out 15..Tied Oriole record.
2 singles allowed..NO batter to second.
No walks...No runs.
Struck out the side 3 times.
And for all of you who think you throw a lot of pitches when you strike guys out, you should have watched this game.
He threw 109 pitches...79 for strikes. 72% of the pitches for strikes.
Just an amazing pitching performance by one of the best pitchers in the game.

Congrats to Bedard, this has to be one of the best pitched games this season. He really showed those guys who didn't vote him onto the All-Star team. His first complete game, and it's a shutout with 15 K's. I guess he was just saving it for now...
