Didn't I read here that 22nd round pick Colin Allen had signed right at the deadline on Aug. 15? I assume he is down in Fla. at the training facility and he won't pitch until next year for us.

The first year without the 'Draft-and-Follow' makes this less interesting. But as I sit here and listen to the MD game, I started perusing to see what's come of the guys the O's didn't sign.

49th round LHP/OF Tyler Newsome is a freshman at Michigan St.

44th round RHP Travis Dirk will return for his second year at Navarro College (Juco)

41st round SS Russell Wilson was redshirt freshman QB at NC State, where he also plans to play baseball.

39th round RHP (McDonogh School; Bel Air resident) Joe Yermal is a freshman at UNC-Charlotte.

38th round OF Michael Harringon will be a senior at College of Charleston.

37th round RHP Merrill Kelly is a freshman at Yavapai College (Juco), where he allowed 2 runs in 8 innings in his first college start.

32nd round RHP Pete Andrelczyk returned for his senior year at Coastal Carolina University.

24th round RHP Dan Klein is a freshman at UCLA.

15th round Australian 3B Tyrone Hambly, having completed his Juco career, will play for Oklahoma State.

10th round RHP Eryk McConnell will be a starter as a senior for NC State. He was the closer in '07.
