    Good teams get calls.

    The O's aren't a good team.

No, Tejada is doing his best to contribute by ignoring the strike zone.

Andy Pettitte just admitted on the Yankees radio postgame show that Roberts was safe on the ARod play. Unprompted. Suzyn Waldman asked him about the great defense he got behind him and he volunteered that they got a big break from the umpires on that one but they'll take it.

WEll the thing that killed me was the zone SHRUNK to the previous two walks. Like it was a normal zone for a change.

Then all of the sudden BAM, wider than Paris Hilton's legas at Mardi Gras

Well sure they'll take it. What team wouldn't? Especially in a pennant race. But its kinda nice to hear someone admit it. Not like it makes the pill go down easier.

    sigh

It shouldn't matter if it's for a good team or a bad team. The umps need to get the darn call right! I think the O's have been hosed quite a lot this year and they were being hosed on calls when they were winning or losing so that shouldn't even matter at this point.

I have no trouble believing that people "let it be known" that certain outcomes would be "desirable."

    Unreal.
I think that all three pitches were balls too, but I think this is an exaggeration. The first strike looked inside and low, but the other two were borderline pitches that Rivera gets most of the time. Somebody tell Moore that he can't keep the bat on his shoulder against Rivera in Yankee Stadium on a pitch as close as that third strike.

Thank God we've finally solved the mystery as to why we've been horrible for 10 years and the Yankees make the playoffs every year. It's the Umpires! Now I can sleep at night..Thank you!!!! It just feels better knowing we can blame everyone except the people who deserve it.

Do any of us watch the other 29 teams play on a nightly basis? Of course not. How could anyone say we've been screwed over more than the average team, this is absolutely ridiculous. Did the umps miss the Roberts play? Yes, but that has nothing to do with the ineptitude of this franchise. Nothing!

My dad (HUGE Yanks fan) and a good friend of mine (HUGE Red Sox fan) always tell me the Os always get shafted on calls. Its been like that for some time. Its nothing new. Its expected at this point and noticed by others.

I don't think anyone blamed our losing season on the umps.....

Very true. I got quite the odd look from my wife when I yelled "Swing the f'ing bat! You can't hit the ball unless you swing the f'ing bat!!!" The cat even ran into the other room.

You know, Rivera eats up guys like Moore all the time, and I was surprised and impressed that he didn't just hack away. And looking at the old Tivo, Moore showed a good eye on those pitches. However, even though they were all balls, he has to at least swing at that last strike. Just too close to take in that situation.

I know, I just can't stand the sentiment that the league loves the Yankees, the umps love the Yankees, ESPN loves the Yankees...It's ridiculous. If we as fans stopped spending so much damn time "Hating" the Yankees, we might realize that there is a legit reason that they've made the playoffs 12 straight years, and it's not the umpires....Here's a hint people, They're really really good.

The Orioles are miles and miles away from the Yankees it's not even funny. We should really be concerned with trying not to finish last, not worry about what's going on at the top of the division.
