    A few collected things:

    -The apartment complex replaced all our blinds while we were away for Thanksgiving with nice new ones that block out a lot more light. I need it very dark when I sleep, so this has been great in the mornings.

    -Course evaluations are finally available so I can vent my frustration with one horrible professor and hopefully someone will do something. Other than her, this first semester of grad school has been amazing.

    -I finally started to feel like a real adult today when a wedding invitation arrived from my cousin addressed to me separately instead of in the care of my parents. My extended family apparently regards me as an independent entity now. I mean, I can drive and vote and have a credit card and a college degree and all that, but it was kind of validating. 22 is an odd transition time.

    How many times do things work as well as or better than advertised? Not often in my experience -- maybe not ever is more like it.

    But I just bought a Discwasher Record Care System for cleaning vinyl albums, and I'm astounded at how well it works and how much better my records sound. I thought some of them were scratched or permanently damaged but it turn out they just had 30+ years of accumulated filth in the grooves.

    I love listening to Christmas songs.

    When I'm driving around in the car, for work, I can crank up the radio and sing my heart out. I'm in my own little, happy world.

    Even stupid driver's don't upset me.

    One of the few things that keeps me sane around this time of the year.

    I cooperated with a telemarketer from my credit card company doing a survey today.

    I hope I helped out someone with a miserable job. It wasn't half-bad.

    And one more thing: Snow. Absolutely beautiful. 'Nuff said. I know some people don't like what it brings and what it means, but you can't deny that it makes for some awesome sights.
