When you're about 14 weeks pregnant and your "normal" clothes start getting uncomfortable, having your recently ordered maternity clothes show up on your doorstep is THE BEST. Having those maternity clothes fit you wonderfully is icing on the cake.

Jesus, you're preggers already?
Rub some of that off on my wife. We can't seem to get it to take (couple early term miscarriages, apparentately).

Well ya' know, I'm old. Though the actual medical terminology is "advanced maternal age."
We don't really have a lot of time to wait.
Sorry to hear about that. Any advice from her docs? How old is she (if she doesn't mind my asking)? And how many miscarriages (if you both don't mind me asking)?
I'll be praying for you guys (I really want as many people as possible to experience this adventure).

She's 28, and we really only just started trying, so no biggie.

Our TV has been busted for months. Every now and then the picture will go out and you have to get up off the couch and physically kick or slap it to get the screen back. We've been dealing with this for almost a year now and I figured my parents would never get the darned thing fixed.
Apparently, they're not going to, but they are buying an HDTV to replace it.
My mom is excited because it gets her more reward miles on her credit card. My dad is. . .well, you know men and TVs. I'm sooo excited to experience this thing, I've never even seen an HDTV (yeah, I know).

My gf would tell you haven't missed much. I say different.
Whenever my gf sees a big screen HDTV, she says something along the lines of "I don't see what the big deal is" or "this isn't that much better than our TV," and I am forced to give her my "are we even looking at the same television?!" eye roll/head shake.

Actually, it could be. My eyes are much, much worse than hers, but I wear contacts all the time. She almost never wears her glasses because her nearsightedness is pretty slight.
She might also just want to believe it's nothing special, so she can tell me so and convince me not to buy one of these TV's down the road.

Yup. Got it on our big screen with the HD box and everything. Admittedly, it was an early HD ready TV, so it wasn't the best one. And our TV is square which means the HD picture was actually smaller with black bars. Definitely did not see a difference. When I see TVs in a store HD vs. not HD I see a bit of a difference, but not enough that I really care.

HD on my early HD TV (1080p but rear projection circa 2003) was ok.
HD on my new HD TV (1080p LCD) was an eye-opener.
Not trying to convince you, because I felt the same way. Only bought the new set because I didn't really like the size of the rear projection one. Was pleasantly surprised just how much better it looked. But a nice live sports event on a nice crisp HDTV certainly counts as an anti-rant for me!

I work at a souvenir/sports shop near the airport in RI. It's always nice when I get an O's fan stopping in. It's so nice to be able to actually talk O's baseball with someone. I mean, discussion on a message board is great and all, but it's really nice to have a conversation with someone for a couple minutes about the Orioles. It's especially nice to have a baseball conversation with someone here and not mention the Sox or Yanks.

An early morning walk on the beach in the fog with a dog and a hot cup of coffee with "Irish" cream. Oh yeah.
