Have you considered the very real possibility that the "source" knew, but maybe the Orioles and MacPhail did not know. Maybe the O's told the source, "shut up Belky or find a new job!" I don't blame Belkast for this. I don't "blame" anyone really. I think its just MacPhail tightening up the ship, and I for one applaud him for doing so!

Is it? I don't want to be a smart ass to you, but what you just stated above is all hypothetical.
With that said, I agree with you that AM should plug some of the leaks coming out of the Warehouse, and has every right to do so.

I rarely post much anymore, but I am still a daily reader of the board. Belkast, you've certainly made following the hot stove season much more exciting since you've been here. I sincerely hope that you don't lose a friendship over this, and that your contact does not feel betrayed. I am thankful for the information that you relayed via this board, and hope that your contact understands that your intentions were not to put him/her in jeopardy, but only to offer other die-hard fans information that they'd truly appreciate. At any rate, regardless of whether or not you post insider information ever again, I do hope that you are able to repair your friendship after all this.

I have been reading this site (lurking) for about two years. I am signing up for my plus membership ASAP. What a tremendous group of O's fans you all are.

Belkast (and the other insiders) have taken a December week and made it, for me, one of the most exciting weeks in Oriole baseball in these last ten dismal years.

We, the last of the hardcore Oriole fans, who have been through so much, have been feeding on these information scraps in the search of the sweet hope that ownership has refused us for so long.

My heart goes out to Belkast. I hope that he and his source suffer no personal affects from this. AAnd I hope he knows what he has meant to me and the others like me.

On the off chance that some fellow in the Warehouse might be reading this thread (perhaps Belkast's contact), I shall offer a brief instruction on some baseball basics. They might be helpful in establishing a course for the organization's future. OH, feel free to add.

1) Taking walks is good.
2) Giving up walks is bad.
3) Google 'Bill James'.
4) Many good baseball players can be found in Latin America and the Caribbean.
5) Don't sign middle relievers to long contracts.

I could go on, but focusing on these five will provide a solid foundation.
