Can we get off the stupid Cubs jag? This is as bad as trying to read mlbtraderumors and seeing every post turn to a Cubs rally. I realize we're running out of fresh news on the deal, but still. At least make a new thread instead of hijacking. And seriously, why turn this well-earned euphoria into another frenzied dash for another fix?

I hate doing these sort of things but it's gone too long. JoeyR5 is a troll from Cubs.com and ProSportsDaily. He does not have any real inside information and was only playing the role of a pseudoinsider by twisting things already said by BigBird/Belkast,/Peace etc. along with speculation from the other boards. I really hope no one is still paying him any attention. I let it go the first time because I figured it'd be a very short time before he's revealed but now after his first couple strikes, he's still grasping for it.

Back to the point, I really hope we get 2 of Clement, Triunfel, Morrow, and Tillman to go with Jones and Sherrill.

With a bullpen of: Aquino, Sherrill, Walker, Bradford, F Cabrera, and Burress (best guess). Who would you have close?

They mentioned the Seattle times report that has Jones traded to Bmore for Bedard. They also said that this deal may have other pieces involved and they will have more as the story develops. Something along those lines. Nothing new.

Thanks man, I'm just thankful this is done. After following the news from blog to blog, I can finally settle back here at the OH. Mariner fans are going to really love how Bedard can simply dominate an opponent, and I'd say he's a good bet to take another crack at the Cy Young now that he'll be in Safeco, a pitcher's haven.

I'm hoping this will be a win-win for both sides.

FWIW, BBHQ says almost the exact same thing about the defense of both Jones and Pie.

Both have strong arms.

Both have very good range.

Both need to take better routes on balls.

Jones - Plus arm strength. Range (Strengths). Shows plus arm strength in CF and is taking better routes. In 2007 they said he has a 50% probability of becoming a Solid Regular.

Pie - Arm strength. Range (Strengths). Range and arm strength play well in CF, but will need to take better routes to balls hit over his head. In 2007 they said he has a 50% probability of becoming a Solid Regular.

Note: I had to use 2007 as neither is listed in 2008 due to his MLB experience.

I have a question about std MiL routine: Do they just play games? Or do they also practice stuff for a couple hours everyday as well? They're young enough that it wouldn't hurt them to tucker them out with 2 or 3 hours of drills everyday. And drills is what you need to get better at running after fly balls. So, I'd think they'd spend an hour or so before the game with a coach taking all the OF'ers and his fungo bat, and hitting balls over their heads, so they can get better at going to get them. If you did that everyday, they'd get better at it. But is that part of what happens everyday? I've not been to many MiL games, so I don't know. Who does?

all that CSN said is that there is alot of talks about a bedard trade, and that jones is flying to baltimore tomorrow. here was no talk of who else was involved though.

This is awesome! I'm psyched this is finally happening, and for the centerpiece I thought was the best player all along- Adam Jones. Insiders- any chance we hear more leaked or even confirmed tonight????
