Bedard-Jones deal going down

Uhhhh, guys? It's Sunday night. Jones was told earlier today that he should plan on flying to Baltimore on Monday morning. We're not going to hear any new news at 9:32 on Sunday night. Might as well pack it in until tomorrow.

Not to hate on anyone, but Roch doesn't strike me as the sharpest tool in the shed. Of course we're saying the deal isn't complete. Technically it isn't complete until all players have taken their physicals. We already knew that hadn't happened. I like Roch, but come on buddy, read between the lines. This isn't some blog saying they have a source who thought the deal might be done. This is one of the players involved being interviewed, and saying he was headed to the other team. Wake up Roch.

I don't want to sound like a downer, and I'm not, repeat not putting anything on the front page, but I've heard that this deal is not final and that Jones may be speaking out prematurely. Things are always interesting with the Orioles.

it's obvious that the two teams are awaiting physicals, etc. I'm not sure if it's considered tampering to come out before everything is submitted to MLB, or whatever the rules are. The M's have not confirmed it either - Baker says Bavasi told him done deal but they placed a call to the M's FO and they aren't confirming it either. Standard proceedure really I think. I'm sure Bedard is on his way to Seattle tomorrow and once they all have 'turned to the right and coughed' - everything will be official then. Look for an official announcement tomorrow i'd guess and the press-conferences on Tuesday?
