Bedard-Jones deal going down

No way Adam Jones has one full year of service time already. But I'll check.

Cot's has him listed at 139 days which is less than a full season. That's more than I thought but he still would have 6 years.

I just guessed, didnt check. I know he doesnt have rookie eligibility. I guess we would have him for 6 years, but he would also be a super 2.

and from MLB Trade Rumors its says that the Cardinals manager Luis Sojo confirmed he we sent to B-more for a physical.

Guys I think the key thing to keep in mind is that NEITHER GM has come out publicly and said there was a done deal. If you think about it, the GMs are always the last ones you hear it from. They can't talk about other teams' players while they are still under contract with the other team.

Granted it's puzzling that MacPhail would say that Jones is not coming to Baltimore for a physical, but that's not a direct quote in the Sun. Who knows what he actually said. He may have just said that he's not on his way right now, which he isn't. He's coming tomorrow morning.

Call me crazy, but a player saying "It's an honor to get traded for such a highly talented pitcher as Bedard is." gives me this sneaky suspicion that that player has been traded for "Bedard." I know it's crazy.

I recall reading somewhere that the Baker guy in the Seattle Times had a quote or a firsthand account from Bavasi that deal was done. I could be wrong but that's what I remember seeing.
