Pie is the better defensive CF. I'd imagine he'd push Jones to left if you managed to get him.

You guys are NOT getting Pie LOL! Or Marmol LOL! You wouldn't get both of those in a deal for Bedard AND Roberts. A package around Gallagher, Murton, Cedeno, and Marshall is what you'll get. Maybe other prospects like Patterson or Colvin included but I highly doubt it.

Key word is "used". 3 years since the last time he played SS I think.

Now that is a crock. You could definitely get Marmol and Pie for Roberts and Bedard. Don't be ridiculous

If we did acquire Pie, I'd imagine the OF would be Pie, Jones and Markakis with Scott DHing. I can't see him uprooting 2 CFer's and someone with Markakis' arm and I can't see him sitting just to get Millar, Huff or Gibbons AB's.

I haven't heard this ... Jones is supposed to be Torri Hunter.

Everyone always overvalues their own prospects. If that is what we were going to get, it would have been done last month. To be hung up this long means there was something in the other trade holding it up.

The excitement is running wild. A little premature perhaps? I see we already have Jones at SS and Pie in CF. Wow! Slow down fellas.

I'd definitely do a Roberts + Scott for Gallagher + Pie, though. That'd be great.

Kudos for the hard work by Geoff Baker of The Seattle Times. I have read a bunch of writers stuff during this offseason. His has consistently been the most well thoughtout, best researched, and most timely. Seattle fans you are lucky to have him.
