"(Bill Bavasi) called me yesterday and told me the news. I've got to go to Baltimore tomorrow morning and handle things there.

This has been a "done deal" since yesterday, but it only gets leaked today.

On a side note, looks like there might finally be a forthcoming decision on the proposed Sirius/XM merger.

Those people have had to wait a lot longer than we have for the Bedard/Robert saga to unfold.

Sure I do but I get tired of the Felix Pie is god stuff by Cubs fans.

You all totally ignore all of his issues.

I would love to have Pie on the Orioles but Cubs fans act as if he is Willie Mays.

Usually they are denying and say the rumors have no basis. A no comment seems almost like a confirmation.

Neither is anyone on the Mariner's side (with the exception of Jones). However, I think "no comment" says plenty.

I think that is selling short. Patterson needs another good season before he's a real viable prospect. That is why I said Fontenot. He's underrated, and just like Roberts defensively, but with a little more pop and less speed.

This is the first time that I can remember in which a trade of this magnitude was revealed by the comments of a minor league player. Someone did not prep him properly. It seems to me that Bavasi would have told him to keep it quiet. It doesn't surprise me that AM is quiet.

This time they just declined to comment though, which is different than what they've been saying all offseason. Anytime there was a Roberts or Bedard rumor over the past couple months, it was almost immediately denied by MacPhail and co. Like, immediately. Now all of a sudden, it's "no comment". That's a pretty telling sign IMO.

    Amen brother!

He was the next Willie Mays 2 seasons ago, but until he starts showing it in the majors, he's just another AAAA player.
