    Daytona 500

Qualifying was today, and Jimmie Johnson has picked up where he left off last year. I was glad to see Michael Waltrip get 2nd place.

I met him at the race in New Hampshire last year, and he was a super nice guy. He had a tough year last year, but looks like things might be headed in the right direction.

Newman's my man, I've been with him through this entire slump. It was great to see him win this. Major kudos to Kurt Busch for that push to the front. I was expecting Ryan to finish behind both Gibbs guys and was trying to convince myself that I'd have been happy with the 3rd place finish. Wow, what a great last lap.

It was a great last lap. I am a Tony guy but I was glad to see Newman win. I am just glad Jr., JJ, and JG all were left in the dust.

If they had stayed together maybe they would have finished 1-2 instead of 3-4. Once they learn to work together the way Johnson and Gordon do they could be heckuva team.

In case you haven't noticed, Stewart/Busch/Hamlin fan here - particularly Stewart.
Clearly Tony and the #18 were the best two cars throughout the race, although Newman was as consistent as anyone all day. Everything had to go right for Ryan on that last lap, and it did. As a long suffering Newman fan, it was great to see him win the big one. He should have won at least two last year (one when the caution came out for rain right when he was about to go by the #24, and when he spun out at Charlotte on the lead with 9 to go) Great day all around and hopefully there's more to come.

Great Race I loved it! Although Jr finished 9th, but it's better than Gordon who didn't really finish lol
