The Orioles Baseball Game
We used to play this game on our high school baseball trips. It's a good way to pass the time on a bus or car ride, but it should also be good to play here in the forum.
One person will start off with the name of a current or retired baseball player - Cal Ripken.
The next person will have to find someone whose first name starts with the first letter of the last name just mentioned - Randy Johnson.
Then the next person continues by naming a player whose first name starts with first letter of the previous last name - John Smoltz.
And so on.
The way you are out is if you can't come up with a name, or you repeat a name that has already been said. Obviously, we won't be enforcing the can't come up with a name rule. If you don't have a name now, come back later and find a letter that you can remember. But let's try not to repeat the players as best as possible.
When playing on a bus or on a car ride, it's all done from memory. Here on a message board, obviously the resources of the internet make it easier to come up with players. But with the number of people on this board, we could get a pretty good list going just from memory.
So let's get it started the first name that should always be mentioned.
Cal Ripken
