John Shelby III hit not one... not two... but three homeruns tonight for the Winston-Salem Warthogs (Carolina League; same as the Keys). They were his first three extra base hits of the year.

Shelby, a 5th round draft pick for the White Sox in 2006, hit .301 with 35 doubles, 9 triples, 16 HR's, and 19 stolen bases in the SAL (same league as Delmarva) last year. In the field, he split his time between the OF and 2B.

It sounds to me like T-Bone's kid is a legit prospect.
