ESPN totally ignores the Orioles. About 1 minute of coverage. They didn't even mention he is joining a ton of young pitching.

So any pitcher picked in the top 10 is a terrible pick? Its that opinion that is totally stupid, not the pick.

What an amazing pitching farm system we have now! Tillman, Arrieta, and Matusz are all legit 1-2 pitchers. Then we have Spoone, Hernandez, Bergesen, and Berken all looking to be 3-5 pitchers. This is not even including Liz, Olson, and Penn!

Matusz. I love this pick. Oh well, let's hope we can get some solid bats in the coming rounds.

    Time to change my avatar.

As opposed to the hitter, who is one pitch away from the next Mike Devereoux, Paul Blair, Tony Conigliero or Ray Chapman...

And that's why you pick college pitchers - rather than HS pitchers. No complaints from me on this pick.

Matches my pick. Good job by the Orioles grabbing a first-rate talent.

    Two things.

    1. Matusz better walk on water.

    2. I hope he has an ERA of 1.00 or less, because otherwise he'll have more losses than wins.

That's great and all, but I don't think frontline starter when I hear Brian Matusz like I do when I hear the name Aaron Crow.

Why are people bashing this pick??

I have more trust in Jordan than any of you complainers, he is the safest best selection on the board at this point.

You can never have enough pitching.

    A great pick.

Matusz is a safe bet, great secondary pitches, should move quickly. Should be seeing him in Baltimore in a couple years.

He failed to mention wonderful words like ace, or one.
But he also said he is the surest bet to be an All-Star out of the whole draft.

Why do people act like this is the only pick in the draft? We have quite a few more if I'm not mistaken...

There are a hell of lot top ten pitcher busts than there are top ten #1's out there.

I can understand preferring Smoak, I did myself, but anybody saying that Matusz was a terrible pick is simply being ignorant. He's a tremendous pick.
