I really don't think you have to worry too much about him coming here. Just my opinion but I doubt the Ravens are at the top of his list should he become a free agent.

I'd take Favre in a heartbeat. Especially over Troy Smith. I think Favre proved last season that he still has plenty left, even at his age.

The Ravens will go nowhere with Troy Smith at the helm. There is a lot of potential even if it is the shortest of short term solutions with Brett.

Take for instance, Steve Young, Joe Montana, Dan Marino... all retired before they turned 39.

Favre had a great 2007. Remember though that his supporting cast was a big reason for that. The 2 years before that he was pretty bad to downright horrible. I don't know how difficult it is coming to a new team, but I can't imagine it being that easy.

I don't know if he'd lead Baltimore to the playoffs, I only know that I have no doubt that the Ravens prospects for 2008 are much, much, much better with someone like Brett at the helm then they would be with Troy Smith.

As a Packers fan I don't really know how to feel about this. I love Brett Favre, I would love for him to play again for us. But then again he made his decision and the Packers have moved on...he can't keep going back and forth on said decision. Apparently after he held the retirement press conference a few weeks later he told the Packers that he wanted to come back and they welcomed it. The FO was going to visit him at his home to just iron things out and were then informed that Brett had changed his mind and was staying retired. And at this point they made the decision to move on completely and they drafted Brohm and Flynn in the draft and made Aaron Rodgers the starter. Now Brett wants to play again and while I would welcome it, I don't see how that's fair to the Packers or Aaron Rodgers.

This is a lose-lose situation for the Packers. You risk either bitterly separating yourself forever from the HOF/MVP/Super Bowl Champion QB that played for your franchise for 17 years and was right up there with Reggie White in revitalizing the team and city of Green Bay or alienating the newly anointed starter and future free agents. There's no way they would ever release him and I don't think Brett actually wants to be released. I don't see them trading him to another team and I don't think they actually want him to be a backup. I believe they are calling his bluff again to see if he actually wants to play or will waffle again. Either Brett shows that he wants to play by accepting the backup role, which would possibly show the FO that he is serious and they give him the starting position back, or he stays retired.

Anyway you look at it...Brett's put the team in a terrible situation. It's going to be really hard to save face with whatever decision they make.

Perhaps if they let him come back to start he has to agree to the stipulation that he finishes out the rest of his contract.
