Oh My God
Everyone I know is lonely
And God's so far away
My heart belongs to no one
So now sometimes I pray
Take this space between us
Fill it up some way
Take this space between us
Fill it up
Fill it up
O my God you take the biscuit
Treating me this way
Expecting me to treat you well
No matter what you say
How can I turn the other cheek
It's black and bruised and torn
I've been waiting
Since the day that I was born
Take this space between us
And fill it up some way
Take this space between us
And fill it up some way
The fat man in his garden
The thin man at his gate
My God you must be sleeping
Wake up, it's much too late
Take the space between us
And fill it up some way
Take the space between us
Fill it up
Fill it upLast edited by scOtt; 09-04-2009 at 10:00 PM.

As I sit at the computer ripping CDs onto my new 500G external hardrive I have decided to use this thread to share my love of the english progressive movement. We shall start off with Genesis and yes that is Peter Gabriel molesting the air while wearing an old man mask.

Honestly would have pegged you as someone that was familar with their work ScOtt. Peter did wear makeup back then, he incorporated mime into his show as lead singer. The lighting was also a big part of it, that footage came from the "white tour". He also used a number of masks and costumes in the show to help convey the meanings.
Despite retaining 60% of the personnel not much was the same between these guys and the crew that did invisable touch.
Since I have used one of my dwindling supply of posts already I will toss the next prog rock link up:

If you don't care for it then jump ahead to 4:20 for a vibraphone solo of all things. It is just amazing.

At 4:20 of all times!

I was never much into Genesis. To be honest... I thought Peter Gabriel fronted for Fleetwood Mac in the early days, not Genesis.
And WOW! I never even heard of Gentle Giant. My progressive love was mostly filled by Rush and Yes, ELP, all the more mainstream groups. That's good stuff. The violin automatically reminds you of Kansas.
