    Brett Favre

    *begin rant*

I am so frakkin' sick of hearing about Brett Favre all the time. Please, tell me I'm not the only one. I mean, this is rapidly approaching TO levels.

And to Favre's suppporters out there, who claim Rodgers shown me thrown to the wayside and Favre should be welcomed back with open arms... HE RETIRED!!! Favre has no one to blame but himself for the way he's been "mistreated."

    *end rant*

I'm sure they're getting some mileage out of non-sports fans who like the Hollywood drama. The over-coverage is something you'd expect to see on E! or similar channels. I can only assume that Favre articles must be getting lots of hits on ESPN's site, which in turn indicates that people still want coverage of the situation.

I am beyond sick of it too.

I understand that he still wants to play football because that is all he knows, but he should have thought it over more. And I agree... the Packers had every right to move on once he retired and still have that right now. If they didn't have a first round draft pick in Rodgers to take over, I am sure they would have welcomed him back but Rodgers is their guy and the time to move on is now.

Part of me hopes Favre gets traded to a place he doesn't want to go to like Tampa Bay. Maybe he should go end his career in Atlanta where he started it.

Anything to put this crap to bed.

On the other hand, Jordan retired twice and kept coming back. Favre is a first ballot HOFamer. Its not like Kyle Boller retired and then came back. One more year of Favre has got to be better than Rodgers first year in the league. AND..if the Packers truly want Rodgers to start, then just trade Favre and get this over with.

Either way, I too am sick of hearing about this.

I don't believe that is necessarily true, but regardless of whether it is or not, Rogers has to have his first year as starter at some point.

Bringing Favre back again would just be delaying it one more year, and that would be hugely unfair to Rogers IMO.

I agree, but the Pack is NOT in rebuild mode. They have a shot at winning now with Favre. Do they have that same shot with Rogers?

Apparently Favre is in the plans of Green Bay, they are saying he is Tampa Bound.

Rogers looked fine to me when he came in against the Cowboys last season when Favre was knocked out. He actually performed better than Favre did that game.

Don't get me wrong, Favre is a HoF QB and a class act. He might even have a little left in the tank too. But to say he'd be hands down better than Rogers at this point in their respective careers is a bit much IMO.

I think that's debatable. IMO, this tired act has tarnished Favre's legacy.

Yep and it's a shame because watching Brett Favre as a kid was the reason I became a Packer fan. It didn't have to end this way but he's given the organization basically no other choice. Either way they look bad and it's not fair to the other players on the team.

Who knew that, all this time, inside Brett Favre, there was a petulant 16-year-old girl just screaming to get out?

Ditka was on Mike and Mike this morning. He said the year Walter Payton retired, he drafted a running back in the first round. He went on to say that if Payton then had come to him and said he changed his mind and wanted back in, that he would have damned sure let him come back.

Bottom line, you don't turn your back on a HOFamer. You think if Ogden went to Bisciotti and said he wants in, you think the Ravens wouldn't pounce on him? The Pack screwed up here. Favre did have them hostage, I agree with that, but his number one choice was to come back to them. All they had to do was say, "Welcome back Brett!"

Payton was also 33. Old for a RB, but still much younger than 39.
