Giants call-up Gillaspie, first player from '08 draft to reach majors.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3573186

The Giants called him up from Short-Season ball???

In 93 AB's between Rookie and Short Season ball, Gillaspie hit .269/.352/.344 (.696 OPS).

This makes no sense to me.

EDIT: I was looking at the numbers again and Gillaspie actually played at Class-A Short Season, not Low-A ball.

I'm guessing the deal he signed demanded a call-up, or it was at least a verbal agreement.
