Who are the top 10 prospects?

With the season winding down I cant help but think ahead. Is there a site that predicts 2009 top 10 picks? If so where can I find it and who are the top 10 potential picks? I realize a lot can change between now and then but....Where do you see the O's picking considering we have 6 games left with Toronto three at NY and three at home with Tampa? Who would you like the O's to go after as there top draft choice?

What draft spot would the Orioles have to be at though? I think it will be hard for the Orioles to be higher than 4 with the Padres being 9 games behind.

If these are the teams ahead of us what are their biggest needs? The Royals are on a hot streak and could easily push us to number 5. The Padres could be looking for a shorstop as well.

BAL might get a shot at Jackson in the second round. Right now I'd have him going in the supplemental. Depends on his '09 season.

Seriously, I wasn't supplemental round impressed with him. If he can put together another season like last year without Raben, Weeks and Alonzo in his lineup, then I'll change my mind. This year its just him and Sobelewski.

He seems like a guy who might stick at short. Might being the key word there. I certainly didn't like him defensively as much as Miclat (sophomore season of course).

I agree it's all about the '09 season. Really thin MI class so he has an inside track if he performs. I think his biggest hurdle will be convincing scouts that he has the strength to hit at the pro level. He's a singles hitter with occassional gap power. That said, he plays a very solid SS and profiles along similar lines to Brandon Crawford (going into last year), though his arm isn't as strong. I like Miclat's approach a whole lot, and I think his mental approach to the position is a little more to my taste (setting up and reading the ball off the bat). Miclat has more offensive potential but his shoulder was a huge concern this past draft. I thought Miclat could have been a 2nd round guy if healthy -- Jackson has the frame to get a little stronger and ease the minds of some scouts.

In a thin MI class, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go supplemental or 2nd round if he gets a little bigger and hits a little more. Likewise, he could tumble down to the 4-6 range if he struggles offensively. I like his glove a lot and he makes some really tough plays look easy.

Your assessment of his defensive abilities surprises me a little. I'm looking forward to seeing him again this year...maybe I've misjudged him because of my FSU bias.
