Glad to see we have some good readers here.

I love the biographies of great Americans and have finished Team of Rivals, John Adams, Truman, etc above. All excellent books. I was really pleased with Team of Rivals.

There are also great biographies on Eisenhower (one of the greatest Americans and Presidents, IMO), JP Morgan, Rockefeller, Carnegie and Vanderbilt. So much to learn about the period and how those guys influenced them during the biographies.

I stopped halfway through Hamilton's bio and have not picked it up in a while and have been waiting to start American Lion for a few years.

I usually inhale a book in a week or two so it is a matter of simply starting most of these for me. Though I am too easily diverted to read fiction by Clive Cussler, Vince Flynn, Balducci and Stepen Hunter.

    Dumas Malone

Malone quotes President John F. Kennedy. At a dinner President Kennedy gave, at the Whitehouse, for all living Nobel Laureates, he delivered the dinner address and opened with the following remark.

"Ladies and Gentlemen. This is the greatest collection of talent ever assembled at the Whitehouse since Thomas Jefferson dined here alone."

Just finished the Isaacson bio on Franklin. It took a few weeks but well worth it. A uniquely brilliant mind(s). Author and subject.

Ditto on the Franklin bio. Very well done.

Right now I am reading a very good biography on Grover Cleveland. It was written by a friend of mine.
