    Daniel Cabrera Tuesday night (12/16)

The game is still in progress as I type this, but Daniel Cabrera's season debut in the Dominican League is already complete.

Working on a pitch count, he faced only 14 hitters and allowed eight of them to reach base. The only run charged to him came in the top of the first when Victor Diaz ripped a two-out double to score Melky Cabrera, who'd walked.

Overall, Daniel's line on a 'shake the rust off' type night looked like this:

    2 1/3 IP
    6H
    1R
    2BB
    2K

Yeah, I know he's no longer an Oriole, so this may get moved, but he's still got a lot of fans hanging around here.

P.S. - If anyone cares about the game, Daniel's Licey club chased Aguilas starter Fausto Carmona (Indians) in a 5-run sixth inning and lead 7-2 at the 7the 7th inning stretch.

A blogger on MLB.com says that the Pirates are interested in Daniel.

He would fit in there for League minimum.

Is there a site to get good coverage on these games?

Your best bet in English is probably here:

    http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/events/winterleagues/?league=car

Not a lot of details, but you can get the boxscores and stats.

If you can hang with Spanish, check out the individual team sites and

    http://www.lidom.com/

I'm not an Aguilas fan, but they have a sort of Hangout of their own that I signed up for:

    http://www.aguiluchos.com/foros/

No idea what Cabrera would cost if signed to a major league contract but if it is between 500.000 and 1.500.000 I would sign him. No matter what but he is still a valuable no.4 or no.5 starter to some teams.

Pirates would sign my 83 year old grandmother to pitch for them.

She's got a good slider though......
