    P90X......Anybody try it???

Usually I don't go for the at home fitness programs but this one has me intrigued. Anybody have any experience and willing to share your progress and thoughts on the program??

    It's pretty money.

I did it for a month and a half last summer and definitely saw results. I stopped cause I took a vacation and like I always do when I get back from one...have a real hard time getting back into working out. Got back into my kettlebells instead. I also got a bit tired of Tony Horton and the videos.

The workouts are no BS though...they're grueling.

But, like any workout program...doesn't mean anything if you don't follow a diet. Not necessarily the diet they line out for you...just make good food decisions.

90 days straight with no breaks seems like such a commitment.

If I get annihilated the night before, last thing I want to do is wake up, do pull-ups, and move around my living room at fast speeds.

Props to anyone who has completed 90 days, that is a big accomplishment in my opinion.

OK, almost 365+ days ago I said I would not do it. Well, I got some DVDs, chin-up bar, some resistance bands, and perfect push-ups and am ready to start tonight. Anyone got any pointers along the way?

I'm on day 16 and am really enjoying it so far. The diet is a little tough for the first 30 days - 1 serving of carbs daily. I found myself bonking at the beginning of the second week. If you can make it through the first two weeks the soreness subsides a lot and I already feel better than I have in years. This past Saturday I was pulling up wall to wall carpeting we are having replaced and moving furniture for 3+ hours and never once got winded. That night I was sitting there thinking to myself, "why am I not sore?" In short, stay at it, your first week just try to keep good form and not worry about doing eleventy billion reps like Tony and the gang. You will get better.

You do most any kind of circuit training 6 days a week for 60 minutes, and you'll see results.

I got them for my wife - she uses them as a bookend. I found some of the videos lame and too easy (Ken Pow or whatever it is stands out). I do 'core synergystics' when I want to hurt myself.

If you are the video type, you will like it.

Everything. OK! I'll talk! In third grade, I cheated on my history exam. In fourth grade, I stole my uncle Max's toupee and I glued it on my face when I was Moses in my Hebrew School play. In fifth grade, I knocked my sister Edie down the stairs and I blamed it on the dog... When my mom sent me to the summer camp for fat kids and then they served lunch I got nuts and I pigged out and they kicked me out... But the worst thing I ever done - I mixed a pot of fake puke at home and then I went to this movie theater, hid the puke in my jacket, climbed up to the balcony and then, t-t-then, I made a noise like this: hua-hua-hua-huaaaaaaa - and then I dumped it over the side, all over the people in the audience. And then, this was horrible, all the people started getting sick and throwing up all over each other. I never felt so bad in my entire life

I would love to try this out. It looks pretty damn cool. I watch the infomercials at like 4am when I'm working.

P90X is awesome but if you really want to get the benefit of it, you need to make sure to follow the nutrition guide as well and stick to it.

    I agree, but...

I am at a point now in my life where I have like zero weight training skills. I am 5'11 and 205 pounds but to be honest, am pretty heavy up top with not a lot of muscle. I never took weight training in high school but was the gym class hero in Team Sports in all four grades. I believe I am in good shape. I play in leagues of soccer (1-2x week), basketball (1x week), softball (2x week), kickball (1x week but not really much of a workout). I can run half-marathons in under 2 hours but still am overweight for my age. I mainly do cardio at the gym and hardly any weights so I am hoping this will be different.

Around my wedding last year in June I weighted about 225-230 so I am down about 20 pounds from last year just by changing my diet, even back then I was still doing just about the same kind of sports & gym combos but did not care about my eating habits and drank a lot of sodas and beers. Now, I mainly stick to beer on the weekends.

The nutrition guide I am not following as I feel like I have pretty good diet going right now in which I do not feel hungry during the day. I have cut soda totally out of my diet the past 4 weeks and and went from 209.5 to 204. I am just drinking water and green tea as of right now. Most foods are home-made and all natural with a lot of fruits and vegetables. I still have to eat one sandwich a day or I will seriously lose my mind. Yesterday, I made a salad and brought it for lunch and could not wait to eat a sandwich for dinner.

I just want something to build some muscle and get rid of my manboobs along with some other parts and as Kevin James said "I just want to lose enough so my stomach doesn't jiggle when I brush my teeth."

Well, I just spilled some beans about myself which I normally do not do as I know some people on here personally but it sucks being in shape, but not looking like you are in shape.
