    3/30/09 - O's at Mets

So it's 1-0 O's in the 3rd inning thanks to a 2-out bomb by Adam Jones. He crushed that ball.

Simon has pitched 2 scoreless innings so far tonight.

BTW, the Mets are broadcasting this game and it is available on MLBTV for those who subscribe.

Mets are fielding a pretty fierce team.

Hopefully we'll see a couple at bats from Pie tonight.

He currently isn't in the lineup. I'm sure he'll sub in at some point.

As for that lineup we're facing--Simon is in cruise control right now. He's pitched 3 scoreless innings, including a recent strikeout of Reyes. He's had great stuff and has gotten a lot of ground balls. The Mets announcers are very impressed (not that it matters).

Jones destroyed the home run ball. It cleared a billboard beyond the fence, the announcers estimated it went 430-440 feet.

This is the first ST training game I've been able to watch (here in NJ on SNY) and I have to say, Simon is looking really good.

Luke just crushed a ball just foul of the right field foul pole... well just foul OVER the right field foul pole. What a bomb that was!

I am watching the game right now on SNY: Simon looks very good so far. Hit 95 a few times, consistently at 93 92 MPH. Threw a nice breaking ball to Jose Reyes that tied him up--Mets announcers also commenting on how impressive Simon has looked tonight. Adam Jones also hit a monster homerun to center, IMO going to be a great player.

Simon enters the 4th inning having thrown just 34 pitches (23 for strikes). A pretty efficient & impressive outing for him so far this evening.

Daniel Murphy. He then gave up a single to Wright, but then got Delgado to ground into a 4-6-3 double play.

    Thank you sir!

I was just wondering if D. Wright had something to do with that for purely FBB reasons. I also did not expect See-mone to pitch a shutout...

Is there anyone watching who could give us a little play by play?
