The Bizarro Endorsement
Endorsements are usually positive things. However, if an endorsement comes from the wrong source, it can actually hurt the overall credibility of the point. For instance, it doesn't really help Paris Hilton if Brittney Spears says that Paris is super smart. In that case, the average person hearing the endorsement just goes "yeh, whatever, that makes me even less inclined to believe it".
I'm advocating a game where we count up these bizarro endorsements like the game where you spot dogs while driving. First one to post a sighting that is affirmed as a genuine Bizarro Endorsement gets a point. No need to sign up. Just post your sighting as a new post with a link and you're in the game.
Rules- First one to 20 wins
- I'm the ultimate arbiter on whether a sighting makes the cut (my game, my rules, but I won't play obviously since I'm the judge)
- The funnier you make the sighting, the better chance you've got of getting a point. Bonus points may even be awarded for high levels of hilarity (Wedge that means you).
- I'll edit this post to keep count of the standings.
- Prize for winner is TBD. We'll see how it catches on.
STANDINGS
Rollie Fingers - 4
TonySoprano - 3
Wedge - 2
Lucky Jim - 2
Lt. Melmo - 1
The Rick - 1
Roy Firestone - 1

Love it... I don't have an actual Bizarro Endorsement, this one is kind of the reverse, does it count?
I'm talking about Old#5Fan's endorsing Ray NOT to be our closer:
As you went on to suggest later in that very thread, this obviously means we should make him our closer.I adamantly oppose it and will go on record that restoring Ray to the Orioles closer would be a disaster. Mark it down for later.

I like it. At the time, his words rang as truth so it wouldn't have qualified at that point as a bizarro endorsement, but once he failed that test the whole issue took on a new slant. I'm not sure he was technically endorsing anything, but I suppose once could say he was sort of endorsing his integrity. His integrity clearly didn't improve in the aftermath, so I think this wins a point.

This is total baloney and you know it. How about tracking how right I am in my predictions as well genius? You might be shocked and actually learn something in the process, mainly that you have no clue about anything at all in the slightest.
I will bet you $100 that if Ray is inserted as the closer he does worse than Sherrill. Put you money where you immature mouth is junior!

This thread can pretty much be renamed "Things OldFan likes."
I submit: Tom Davis.

Can I have O5F and his endorsement of Curt Blefary's defense, please?

Winner, winner, chicken dinner
His contributions in that thread will be remembered by our progeny for reaching new levels of bizarro endorsement.
I'm honestly a bit worried about Tom Davis retaining his job long term if the MASN guys see that thread between the nasty things written by the rest of us and OF5's endorsement.
