I went to Cedar Ridge in Gettysburg last Sunday and would have shot a 101 or 102 if the sky didn't open as we were making our way up the final fairway. The rain was coming down so hard we didn't even stop to get our balls.

I've played Cedar Ridge. Nice course.

    I prefer South Hills.

I played there for the first time the other day (and I live 5 minutes away). I have always been terrible at golf, and it was no different there as I shot a 112.

Putting has always been my problem. Im garbage.

qualifying is always tough...went to local US open qualifying two years ago and was right near the cut until a triple on 18...heartbreaking...

I'm the best putter I've ever seen. And I've seen the pros many times in person. It's a joke with me and my golfing buddies, but not a one of them ever disagreed...

I just played Rocky Point today and shot a 102. I had been breaking 100 pretty consistently this summer, so this was a bit of a set back. Completely blew up on a couple holes.

Yeah. that qualifier was 36 holes, in one day. Brutal in mid-summer. Especially when it's 60 miles from home and starts at 6am.

South Hills was the first course I broke 80 on back in 1999.

If I remember it correctly, that course has 3 nines. I don't remember which finishing 9 we played but I remember that last hole.

It was a short par 4 and I needed bogey for 79. Slight down hill, then up guarded by a trap on the right and one front left.

Anyway, I hit my two iron and the clubhead came off at impact. The ball went about 40 yards. I managed to save par and card a 78.

Those were the days before baseball got in the way. Now, I would probably have trouble hitting a ball from me to the computer screen.

I once broke a graphite shaft, on my driver. I have a really long follow-thru. I hit the club on my back. One time, I hit it so hard the shaft broke and continued around my body, down the fairway.

I also broke a club on a shot too. Was in that Harrisburg qualifier as a matter of fact. Short easy dogleg par-5. Hit a short drive or three-wood from the tee, then 90 degrees right, muchly elevated fairway straight to the green. Put it in the fairway and take your best shot at an eagle.

I don't even remember, I must have hit my drive somewhere off line, then hit my second just down the fairway. I was at the bottom of the hill, in thick wet rough, 200 yards out. I hit a 3 or 4 iron, probably 4 just to get it up and out... swung as HARD as I could possibly swing! Made great contact, considering the circumstances... but snapped the head and about 6 inches of the shaft RIGHT off. Twirled up in front of my face and on out into the fairway.

At Carrol Park on Friday, hit a birdie on Par 4 from about 120 yards out.

1st shot was a drive, 2nd shot went about 20 feet, 3rd shot from about 120 yards out was beautiful. Then, I lost the ball on the next hole.
