    PGA Championship _ Hazeltine

Okay golf and sports fans, the last "major" is under way at Hazeltine. Long and strong is the way the course is being described. The back nine has 3 consecutive holes that are the longest on the tour for this year!

Tiger is already on the prowl at the top and is looking pretty good right now. Long and strong can also be used to describe the field for this championship. What a field it is with all the traditional big names and a lot of rising lesser known stars too.

    Who will win?

    This poll is so unfair.

It should be Tiger v rest of the field.

That's the only legit bet for any tournament, especially any major.

Tiger is at the top of the leaderboard on Day 1 which means there is really no reason for me to watch the rest of the weekend. Hopefully someone keep pace so we can have some excitement Sunday afternoon.

Ok...since it is hard to beat Tiger after a first round major lead, I will put in my two cents for a good contender who will give him some trouble on the weekend.

    Alvaro Quiros

This guy is legit. One of the longest drivers of the golf balls in the world, and for his length, surprisingly accurate. He can make the 7600+ yard course look pretty tame. He plays almost exclusively on the European Tour, and is way up there in the order of Merit. I think you see this guy make a run at Tiger for the trophy

If Tiger doesn't win this tourney, it has to go down as one of the biggest upsets in sports history at this point.

Harrington is a grinder just like Tiger. I don't think he'll roll over. I think we'll see a pretty entertaining Sunday for the 2nd straight week with these two.

This is incredible...Yang up 1 with just the 18th left...Both bogeyed the 17th.

Only 2 birdies all day at 18.

If Yang wins this, it has to be one of the biggest upsets ever.

Tiger didn't really play all that terrible, and he had to blow a final round lead at some point. Sucks for him that it happened in a major but congrats to Yang, he appears to be a real stand-up guy and he definitely deserves it after his round today. That approach shot on 18 was just incredible.

I'm a Tiger fan and always root for him but it was nice to finally see someone not back down and beat him on a Suday in a Major. Yang matched the low round for the day at -2 so even though Tiger didn't play well IMO this was still Yang winning it more than Tiger losing it.

Well, had Tiger shot an even par, they are in a playoff.

I do think Yang jumped up and grabbed it but Tiger blew it today, plain and simple.

What a year for the majors...Look at how they all ended...Kenny Perry was supposed to win..He choked...Phil had a great shot at the US Open..he blew it...Watson had the British won...He choked...And then to top it all off, Tiger shoots a 75 and chokes away the PGA.

He couldn;t put well again...all 4 majors this year were about his putting...Had he putting well this year in the majors, he may have won the grand slam.

Now, all of that being said, watch out for him next year in the majors...Augusta...won 4 times..Pebble Beach at the US OPen...Set the record..St Andrews...Won twice there.

Not sure if he has played or done anything at Whistling Straits or not but you may be seeing him go for the Grand Slam next year and tie Jack.

Only about 1/4 of the field shot even par or better today and of course even only gets Tiger in a tie. To win it outright Tiger would have needed to be one of only 10 guys to shoot under par today. Technically, you can say anybody who loses a lead on Sunday choked and because Tiger is the greatest ever it's even easier to hold him to a higher standard but his performance today isn't what comes to mind when I hear the word choke.

So? Isn't that how Tiger rolls?

He shot a 75..Now, the bogey on 18 is meaningless, so even if you want to say he shot a 74, it doesn't chance things.

He is the greatest player ever...The only time he lost a tourney in which he led after 54 holes was back in 1996.

Again, taking nothing away from Yang...He played great and grabbed the title...But Tiger clearly screwed the pooch today...Yes, it was a tough day but yesterday was a day Tiger needed to do more as well. On tough days, you expect Tiger to rise above it and play better than he did today.

He putted terribly today and that was his downfall. He also struggled with the wind all day.
