I know, I know, he gets bashed plenty around here, but I just must say:

Jim, we all know that you live right up the street from Melvin Mora, and you're constantly running into him at the Royal Farms (or whatever store it is) on your way into work, and his kids are adorable, and he's a personable guy, etc---but give it a rest! You probably sit at the Royal Farms waiting for him every morning. I'm surprised he still goes there. I can just imagine you popping your head out of a trash can or something when he arrives, gleefully greeting him, "Hey Melvin! How are the kids?! You looked great out there at 3rd base last night! And you had one golly-gee heckuva batting practice! Can I give you my cell phone number, you can call me any time to discuss anything you want! I LOOOOOVE YOOOOUUUUUU! Will you pleeease join me and Buck on Wired Wednesday this week? Pretty pretty please with an orange tuxedo on top???...Wait, Melvin, where are you going, buddy? Just please tell me you love me!...get back to me about that Wired Wednesday, it'll be a blast, we'll talk about your kids, and how we live on the same block!!! (now begins to sing):

Maybe he's just trying to give him some love (respect?) because after this year, he's gone...... IMO.
