What QB would you rather have than Flacco?

Taking into account long term and short term potential, how many QBs would you take over Flacco?

It's surprising to me how short this list is in my mind...

Yes their are a few... Peyton Manning comes to mind. In all honesty I would trade Flacco for anyone right now though...It looks like we have the best young QB in the league.

Not to take anything away from Flacco who does look to me like he's going to be a good one for a long time but the player picked from the same draft class has played awfully well to this point in his career. If I had a franchise and had to pick a young QB from that draft class, based on what I've seen so far I don't see how Ryan doesn't get the nod although Flacco is not far behind.

No argument but I consider what we would have had to give up to move up to get Ryan. And I personally think Flacco will end up with the better career. But thats a biased opinion of course.

I wouldn't trade Flacco for any other QB.

But that's because I already have his jersey and I don't want to have to get another one.

I asked a similar question in the following thread last year. It will be interesting to see how far Flacco has moved up on some people's list in the last year.

Back then I said I'd take Ben and Cutler over him though probably not now. Rivers might be the only guy I'd seriously consider at this point. Not that you could go wrong with a lot of these guys and all things being relatively equal you're going to take your teams guy. I know the Steelers fans would take Ben over everyone else and the Falcons fans would do the same with Ryan. It'll be interesting to hear from some of the guys who don't have a dog in the fight.

Currently, there is not a single quarterback in the league I would rather have. Pretty amazing. He just seems to have it...

He's also a perfect fit for this team and this town. He has a freaking Baltimore (south Jersey/Philly) accent for God's sake.

I would place extra value on age/cost. Matt Ryan is the only QB I would consider. Someone like Manning would take up 20% of the cap and won't be around in 5-10 years.

    Why would you trade Flacco?

Mark Sanchez -- I heard on ESPN and NBC that he's better than Joe Montana, Johnny Unitas, Peyton Manning, and Tom Brady combined.

Taking age into account, there are not many. Peyton has 4-5 years left. Flacco could have 15 years left. Based on that, I wouldn't take hardly anyone over Flacco at this point.

It's hard to choose Flacco over Big Ben based on Ben's clutch play and SB rings, but I think Flacco could be the more consistent QB. Ben R. has had some up/down seasons thus far, despite his SB rings, and Flacco looks like he will be more capable in the big-play passing game.

In the dream scenario that you could choose any QB to place on the existing Ravens team (i.e. everything else remains the same) I would take Peyton over Flacco even though he may have only 5 years left. With everything else the Ravens have going for them they would be in a position to be a prohibative favorite to win multiple Super Bowls over the next couple of years rather than just having the chance to be a contender. Personally I would take that over longevity.

Have to agree but with his salary would dismantle our defense. If we are playing fantasy and can have who we want etc, Peyton behind our line would be like 4-5 Superbowls instantly. We would shut up the Steelers fan with there league leading 6.

No team is a lock to win the SB each year. We are already in a position to battle for the playoffs and SB now, so I'd still take Flacco because it would mean that we'd have that franchise QB past the time when Manning would retire.

Right, exactly. We couldn't have the same team with Manning.
