Pretty sure. I think you may have to use a disc that comes with the system to load some software, but I may be mis-remembering, or they could have started putting the software on automatically. I remember it being easy, though.

Ya it's easy to set up, just know that you'll have to charge your controllers before you can play wirelessly. Also, if you have an HDTV that it's going to connect do, definitely get an HDMI cable (check that you have a free HDMI slot).

Also if you have a wireless router you'll want to set all that up and download all the software updates.

Thanks, guys. I do have an HDTV with an extra HDMI cable waiting for this purpose. It looks like the consoles are few and far between in my local area, but it looks like my local Target has them in stock. Hopefully I can pick it up tonight and post my handle in the morning. I'm glad you mentioned about the controllers, I didn't know that. I had assumed they used regular batteries.

Yeah, Sony went all proprietary with the controllers, battery wise.

Sorry to hijack the thread as it is for handles, but one last question, if the controllers are uncharged, can I use the blue ray remote to set everything up while they are charging? I plan on getting the remote at the time of purchase.

You have to register the remote, which you have to do through the setup menus, using the controller. BUT HAVE NO FEAR! The remotes aren't completely wireless only. They connect to the console via mini USB to USB. When connected, they function. The cable is pretty short though.

Yeppers, I've being doing that for a bit. I think Heavy Rain may be the first game I purchase. Impressive demo.

Got a PS3 about a month ago. Have played a lot of MLB the Show, the last week have been playing MW2. I'm not very good at first person shooters, especially since I hadn't played one online in probably 6 years until this past weekend. I'm getting better, but at this point I don't often have more kills than deaths.

OpusBruno is my handle. I tried testing out a bunch of names to see what was and wasn't available, but in the end PS3 somehow gave me the first name I checked that worked. Oh well, I can live with it.
