Ravens try out 2 free agent kickers

Per WNST, the Ravens tried out free agent kickers Mike Nugent and Billy Cundiff.

Does Vanderjack (sic?) still kick or is he retired? I know he was a pretty reliable kicker at one time until the Colts got down on him, and released him and I don't recall what happened to him after that.

I like the move. If they kick great, sign them, at worst case it should be a big wake up call to Hauschka. Hopefully he can use this as a motivational tool and get things together.

Neither of those names are super impressive. Nugent was highly regarded coming out of college but has been a pretty mediocre pro. Cundiff is nothing special. I think Hauschka probably has the better kicking ability, but maybe his head will prevent him from becoming a reliable late-game kicker.

Is it ironic or what that underneath this thread was an add for "Elite Kicking Academy?"

They tried out Nugent & Connor Barth last week, so one would imagine something's coming.

I don't care if they try out Ted Nugent and Billy Idol as long as they can find a guy who can make an easily makeable FG in the fourth quarter say 35-45 yards! In other words the range where Stover used to be Mr. Automatic!

Seems unlikely. Hauschka is and always has been a tool. He doesn't have a clutch bone in his body, I don't see that changing.

I was asking a serious question. I have no clue what you are talking about, unless you are just being a jackass towards Hauschka and then me.

But if you can't be bothered, I'll make sure to take that into account in the future when I decide what opinions are worth my time.

I don't care to be bothered with stupid two word questions, so yeah... note that down.

I don't know him, but I have a friend who played with him at NC State and evidently he always appeared to be nervous during pressure situations. A lot of people didn't care for him, but tis the life of a kicker I suppose.

My bad though, I definitely shouldn't have called him a tool, but rather explained what I just did above.
