This storm will lift the 09-10 winter season to the #1 snowiest season on record (for the Mid-Atlantic region, specifically the majority of Maryland), breaking one that has stood for 110 years (1898-1899).

*Expect school closings/early releases/delays on both Tuesday and Wednesday*
They have upped those totals already. The I-95 corridor should see 12-20 inches with blizzard conditions again.

    Dear Mother Nature, check please?!

BTW, I think the title for the next storm should simply be Snowpocalypse Two: The Sequel.

Well were the schools closed today? If so, they might as well just keep them closed through at least Wednesday.

Of course the closing/delay/early release threshold is much lower down there...there was over 50 inches over a nine day period in which it snowed for 216 straight hours in early January up here and there wasn't a single closing.

It is going to be a long day at work. There is literally nothing I can do. Not sure why my boss insisted I come in. Also, if a customer calls in wondering why their delivery isn't there this morning, I'm not sure I trust myself not to make a complete smart ass comment.

1.0-1.5 inches of QPF as of this morning (Last storm around 3.0); so yeah, it appears that accumulations in excess of one foot, especially near the coast, are likely.

I agree. I am trying to go into work only because I think I will be off on Wednesday. So I would like to get a few days in this week.

But my boss is supposed to pick me up (at 7:10), but supposedly he is watching his neighbors boat for him(he lives on the bay), and had to clean off all the snow on it so it didn't sink.

Well I am still waiting here. Don't know if I am even going in today, or what I can do if I do get in.

I am thinking the same thing..ie better get in today since its not looking good for Wednesday. That said, the Mrs. and I aren't exactly breaking any landspeed records to get there.

I suppose I should be a bit more thankful to at least be earning some money while doing nothing.

I got in at 8 and our head driver, who had been shoveling/plowing since 4:30, had just reached the entrance to the building. At that pace, the rest of the yard should be cleared just in time for the new snow on Wednesday.

Digging out was the worst part. Probably spent 3 hrs total digging. I guess thats not too bad, it was a good workout.

I will be in Miami this weekend. Can't wait to get away from this friggin' snow!

    6 hours for 3 cars...

We live in a court, so the plow came through once, and it was at least a 10-12 foot stretch we had to get through from our cars to the "path" the plow made.

I really couldn't care less about the snow, as it doesn't really affect me. For some reason I live in some sort of priority plow zone, and I don't mind shoveling.

That said, the stupid schools are never going to re-open, and I can't go to work until they do.

No work today, but I have to use my own leave time (at least I can use sick time) b/c I'm a contractor and not a Federal Employee (yet). I'm planning on going in tomorrow and expecting to be off again on Wednesday. Trying to use as little leave time as possible as I'm saving it for next month when DuffBaby gets here.
