It just keeps getting better. Models are now forecasting for wet snow. That could possibly freeze overnight...![]()
One of my major trucking companies told me yesterday they are expected close to four feet in the Hagerstown area.![]()
Blech, living in an end unit is nice, but the sidewalk wraps around and there's like 200 feet of it.
By the time I finish, I'll have to go back to the beginning and start all over again.
They bumped the totals back up again.
Scott, FYI they said that the hardest hit area will be between York & I-81 where I crosses into MD... so I dunno, you might want to go rent some movies.
Should be interesting. I'll probably bail outta work around halftime tomorrow, which is when it's supposed to start.
Those same "pros" said that we were getting nothing last weekend, while Mr Foot said 6-7 inches all week and never really wavered from that prediction.
I usually go with an average of them all, so I'm going with about 18-20. But in all reality what's the difference between 12 inches and 24 inches, only a little bit more shoveling to do.
This thread is just gold for the out of context thread.
I'm already scheduled to bail about 10 am. And I have to go to the grocery store today (weekly shopping NOT OMG It's going to snow shopping) and have to deal with all the crazies out buying up all the milk, bread and TP. Yes people, we really NEED to stock up on TP, like we're all going to poop like crazy for the next week or so.
My son has a wrestling tournament at McDonough School on Saturday and they have announced it will go on no matter what since they have people coming here from all over the East coast and staying in hotels.
I sure hope we get closer to the low-end of the predictions because it's going to be hard enough to get there at 8AM in the morning, only to come back to 12+ of snow on my 120 foot driveway.
I'm usually a fan of snow, but this is just getting ridiculous!!
I have to work Friday night and Saturday night in Philly. FML.
75 F today in West Palm Beach, FL.
Pitchers and catchers report here for a reason...![]()
See Hank...we wrestling parents is CRAZY! I drove in it last Saturday from White Marsh to Sykesville and back and (in all honesty) I'd be doing it again this weekend if we had an event that was going on regardless of the snow. FWIW my son's not nearly on the same level as Tony's boy. It might sound like priorities get a little skewed, but sometimes there's a lot at stake at these events. Even if there's not, these boys work HARD 3, 4, or even 5 nights a week for 2 or 2-1/2 hours a night. They live, eat, breathe, and sleep the sport. They eat healthy, they bust their butts to get their school work done, and all of that is so they can compete on the weekends.
It's not a 'game' to these boys. They don't go 'play wrestling'. It's a form of hand-to-hand combat. I'm sure it varies a little from wrestler to wrestler and from family to family, but I know for me it's hard to say, "I know you've been working out 10 hours a week and eating right since October and you've been training for this event all week, but we're not going because of the snow."
If I can get him there safely, I'd do it. I'm at least going to try.
