I am looking at the satellite now. I don't know if I believe it. It looks like there is 2 stages to this storm. The initial cluster of clouds (which looks like it is starting to break up a bit, but still deliver a lot of snow) and the tail end of the storm hovering over Georgia and part of the Gulf. If that tail end hits us, and it looks like it is moving right toward us, it could be a record setting snowstorm. But as we have seen many times in the past, weather is unpredictable. Anything can happen. I am expecting a lot of snow this weekend I just don't know if I buy the whole record setting thing. We'll see.

I think it's pretty amusing how people are rolling their eyes at the crazies going to the grocery store - WHILE THEY'RE GOING TO THE GROCERY STORE!

I remember the storm in '79. Had to dig out the entire alley to get my truck out. They had the four wheel only emergency plan out but my truck had big rims and tires so I didn't get in trouble for that but it was rough going for a few days. The first day was cool though because I pretty much had the roads to myself. Took a friend of mine hookie bobbing. You tie a rope to the truck, put on some big boots, and pray you don't hit a pothole. It's like water skiing without the skis or water.
This was the storm that forced Baltimore to get 4 wheel drive vehicles. It was wild west in some parts of town.
I probably shouldn't mention the war zone we had set up to bomb vehicles.
Man I miss the snow.Last edited by Satyr3206; 02-05-2010 at 11:36 AM. Reason: Forgot a sentence.
