My wife was 8 months, 3 weeks pregnant on the eve of an enormous snow we had in early January 1996. It started snowing Sunday morning and never stopped until Tuesday morning. On Sunday afternoon, after 10-12" had fallen and the end was nowhere in sight, my wife called the local fire station and said, "I'm pregnant, if I go into labor and we can't get out, can you guys come get me?" The answer came back, "Lady, we'll try." Not at all what my wife wanted to hear. Fortunately, she didn't go into labor until two days after the snow stopped falling. Then we had another 8 inches fall that night and I got marooned at the hospital and had to sleep in a lounge chair in my wife's hospital room.

...Up here at the meteorology labs at The State University of New York At Oswego, there is quite a buzz. This storm has the potential to produce the most snow *ever* in a 3 day for the Baltimore/Washington region. All of the factors have come together perfectly for a classic nor'easter....Would not be surprised one bit if some of Maryland's Winter Storm Warnings are changed to blizzard warnings later today. Snow accumulations should easily exceed 20 inches in most Maryland locations and DC, with some higher terrain receiving in excess of 30 inches.

If you some of you could report some snow totals here as we head toward Saturday, I would greatly appreciate it! I'm sure the event has been hyped up as all hell down there, but for good reason!
