Coach K to the Nets?
Mike and Mike have been citing a New Jersey article that is saying the new owner of the Nets is willing to offer Coach K 12-15 million a year to be coach and GM of the team.
Do you think he accepts that job offer, if it is indeed true?

I don't think he does. That's a lot of money to turn away from, but I think he really likes what he does and does not have the desire to be a pro coach. It's a totally different game.

If he had a soft team coming in next year, I'd think he'd consider it.
His team is in full-on beast mode next year. No way he leaves.

No chance he leaves. Maybe if it were for a team in a better situation but the Nets are historically horrible. There is little chance he'd be able to turn it around.
Maybe if it were the Bulls, since he is from Chicago, but I don't see him leaving. He loves what he does there and is the embodiment of Duke basketball.

This is extremely interesting, especially when you consider that the Nets have a good young core and a legitimate shot to land LBJ.
However, Coach K previously turned down the opportunity to coach the Lakers (and K and Kobe are close) which leads me to believe that if he wouldn't leave for the Lakers, he wouldn't leave for any team. So it really boils down to two things that would make him leave:
1) The money
2) The fact that if he wins tonight, he will be second in titles and unable to catch Wooden and perhaps feels like he has accomplished all he can at dook and is willing to take on a new challenge

Krzyzewski isn't going anywhere.
Rupp won four NCAA titles ('47-48, '48-49, '50-'51, '57-58), two Helms titles ('32-'33, '53-'54), and one NIT title ('45-'46).

He would be making a big mistake going to NJ. First he is set at Duke, the school recruits itself (along with Vitale and ESPN), second he would not do as well because the NBA talent is more equal and at Duke he has a decided advantage. He doesnt teach the NBA game to his players, see how poorly alot of them do in the NBA.
He will tie Rupp tonight and have a shot to repeat next year. If Singlar is smart he will stay next year unless he is a top pick, he will be a NBA bust as well.

If he wouldn't leave to coach a former recruit in his prime on one of the two or three top teams in NBA history, why would he leave for a terrible team in New Jersey with a potentially-insane owner?
No chance in hell.
