I hope so... just so that it would be one last thing to argue about. Poor Jerry Hoffberger can now rest in his grave, knowing what he did was so wrong in the eyes of many Orioles fans.

This would be awesome! I've been holding out the past couple of years from getting a road jersey in the hopes that this change would happen!

no1pony is a rookie fresh out of training camp.
Wow

I know it really doesn't matter in the greater scheme of things but it will be nice to see Baltimore back on the uniforms. It is starting to seem as though this team is starting to pay more attention to the fans then they have in recent years.

Don't get your hopes too high, folks. It was "discussed" last year, too.

Yeah, last year word got out and they "nixed" it and denied conversations even occurred. Maybe it's best to act like we don't know, and just let the team have their day in the sun and break the news, because it seems right about when we got the leaked information, the deal fell through. Always appreciate the info though, Belkast.

I am convinced they were going to do it last year and didn't because the news leaked out early. I think it was WNST?

Anyway, good move. Better late than never but it should have been done years ago.

Does anyone know what the deadline is to approve this in order to be able to implement the change next season? (If it's approved of course) It's pretty early in the season isn't it?

EDIT: DrLev said last time this was discussed that he thought it was early May, possibly May 1st. I'm just curious as to if anyone actually found out what the actual deadline is.

I thought when we went through this last year the deadline was in April but I could be wrong. I did a basic search to find a date but could not find one.

I don't know, but why does Major League Baseball have a deadline for uniform changes? Why does Major League Baseball approve uniform changes at all? I'm sure it has something to do with licensing and merchandising, but jeez. Baseball doesn't even control specs for bats or enforce rules about how far the fences are from the plate, and yet they micromanage what uniform teams wear?

I am pretty sure it's May 31.

With MacPhail on the wagon, I would have thought that Baltimore would be getting back onto the uniforms. It is about time.

I'd be curious to hear a reasoned argument against this idea. When this topic comes up, some defend the organization and say it's a nice to have, won't affect the win column (no kidding), etc. What I haven't heard is a reason why the organization is right in maintaining the status quo.

I can see why they would be strict about this. It is the identity of the teams. When you think about a team, you think about their logo, uniform, etc.
