Why isn't "neither" a choice?

Add Rich Harden to your high risk, high reward list. Bedard, Sheets and Harden are all quality pitchers, TOR types when healthy. The risk is neither are often healthy for a full season. Based on recent production my choice would be Harden, but my suspicion is EB is more likely, with none of the above the most likely.

Sheets could be a nice gamble if he doesn't cost much. His prognosis was supposed to be good and he should be available for ST according to a report last month. I'm just guessing somebody will pay more for that gamble than we will. Bedard is more likely because of the past connection. All depends on what we have to pay, but I'd bring one of them back on the cheap.

I'm with you on that. If both could be had on the cheap I'd bring both in here.

I would imagine the only one we'll have a chance on would be Bedard.

And I'm not really too crazy about bringing back someone who just underwent labrum surgery and depending on them for anything.

That's just silly.

Silly...especially since it will likely be mid-season before he can pitch at all.

If then. Labrum. Surgery. He may have a career in insurance sales.

With his personality? Not.

Perhaps he can peddle Moosehead for a living.

Or Labatt Blue.

As much as I hate Bedard I would pick him up if his price was pretty low. Take a flyer on him and see if he comes thru.

I've heard Bedard does stand up in French, when he's back home in Onterio. Just a language barrier.

Just spit balling here, but what about all 3?

Are the injury prone combination of Harden, Bedard, and Sheets greater then those they would replace? Hendrickson, Berken, and Bass for example. More expensive for sure, but more expensive then Lackey?

Staff:
Guthrie
Matusz
Tillman
Bergesen

Sheets
Bedard
Harden

Uehara
Hernandez
Mickolio
JJ Johnson
Meredith

Its non-standard, I'm not sure how to break up the starts and long/mid relief, but that is a more talented and deeper staff then any other the Orioles could muster.

I agree, and was thinking the same thing.

Between the 3 of them you just might get 200 innings.
