Ok, I use my first move to get infinite moves.
Oh .... wait... I'm thinking of wishes. Well there goes my whole plan. |

My first move is to trade someone a little bit better than Jesse Chavez to Tampa Bay for Akinori Iwamura to be our 3B next season.

The first thing I do is give myself a big fat raise. I'll probably be fired before spring training starts so I'll get what I can as fast as I can.

Here goes:1.) I'd sign John Lackey. 2.) I'd try to obtain Hardy by dealing Scott 3.) I'd would obtain Lowe as our # 3 starter (Atlanta would pay $15 Million over 3-years) 4.) I'd make Uehara the long man 5.) I'd sign one of Bedard/Sheets/Harden as our #2 starter. 5.) I'd trade for Atkins to man third base in 2010 6.) Now that Lackey, Lowe, and Bedard/Sheets/Harden are in the fold I would attempt to deal Snyder, Tillman, Avery, and Joseph to the Brewers for Fielder and sign him to an extension. 7.) I'd make Reimold the DH/4th Outfielder. 8.) I'd make Arrieta the closer and move JJ back to setup. 9.) I would trade Itzturis to the Cubs for relief pitching help. 10.) I would instruct my scouts to sign the 5 best international baseball players. |

Could we just sign Troy Glaus to play 3B, as well? AGon would need to be extended.

AGon's numbers compare very favorably to Nick's across the board, except that AGon, as expected, has a higher slugging percentage due to his exceptional power. Agon has increased his homerun numbers in each of the past three years while playing in spacious Petco Park, from 30 to 36 to 40. I have no doubt that he would be a monster playing at Camden Yards. He'd also give the Yankees and Bosox a dose of their own medicine when the O's played at new Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park. This guy is made for the AL East but it will take alot of talent to get him in a trade and, once we get him, it will cost a fortune in contract money to keep him. The question is, do you want to win the AL East or don't you? If you do, it's going to cost alot at some point.

No one is saying we don't want to win in the AL East. Some people use this question and argument again and again but lets face facts, EVERYONE wants to win in this division. But if Gonzalez does not or will not sign an extension, what good is it to trade the guys being discussed for two years? The answer is it makes no sense. |

1.) Sleep with the hottest chick I could find.
2.) I'd sign John Lackey. 3.) I'd try to obtain Hardy and Gamel by dealing Scott and Erbe 4.) I'd sign Lowry to a minor league deal. 5.) I'd re-sign Hendrickson 5.) I'd sign Jeremy Hermida to fill a Luke Scott type role. 6.) Bring in another reliever that doesn't cost a draft pick (type B, FA, small trade). 7.) I'd dedicate 12-15 million for the Rule IV and over-slot like crazy (in what could be the last year to do it). 8.) I'd make an early attempt to sign solid guys to fill out the minor leagues. 9.) Sign Adam Jones to a long term deal. 10.) I would call more ex-Orioles to assist drills/meetings during spring training.

Brian Matusz had an easy inning, throwing five of eight pitches for strikes and getting back to the dugout. The ball didn't leave the infield. Matusz threw a curveball that was so nasty, it has players chirping behind him. Pitching coach Rick Kranitz just shook his head. |
