o The first time that I read about Joe Altobelli was in my older brother's 1977 Complete Handbook of Baseball, which I read about 30 times. At the time, he was the manager of the San Francisco Giants. He may have gotten the NL Manager of the Year Award in 1978 when the Giants went 89-73, if the award had existed at the time. It was the franchise's first winning season since 1973. At 88 years-old, he didn't get cheated out of his years. o

Am I the only one who thinks he should be playing as much as possible and not just a game here or there? I mean he isn't making the opening day roster but the more at bats he gets the better, -

Spoken like a true Orioles fan! In my mind, any good young pitcher we have is 100% slated for TJS unless, miraculously, it never happens. -

I'm not sure it's as easy as it seems. Just finding a guy who can make the routine play at 3B and some above-average plays seems kind of tough these days. I mean the last good defensive 3B the team has had other than Machado was Ryan Flaherty. -
If he can he has sure been hiding it for that last two seasons.
