  1. Kyle Gibson RHSP, 6' 6-200, Missouri, DOB- 10/23/87 (21) Solid, yet unspectacular pretty much sums up Gibson. Taking the reins from Crow, he has put up very solid numbers this year at Mizzou 10-3, 3.47era, 123k 18bb in 98.2 innings. Gibson has a good fastball, with a plus slider he uses as an out-pitch, and a change that is below average but coming around. Has good command, and average life on the fastball which sits around 90-92, but spots it well on both sides of the plate. Part of Gibson’s appeal is his large frame which could easily hold a few more pounds of muscle which may increase his

  7. This is just a thought from someone who is not a regular poster on this board. There are a few....just a few.... that seem to troll this board and wait like a tiger ready to pounce on an injured antelope. The OP was frustrated for whatever reason. Maybe a bad day or week combined with some pretty crappy O's play recently. The guy didn't go after anybody here, he just needed to "rant" and did it in the healthiest way that I can think of. The few on here that want to assail him should think about this.... After over a decade of losing, and looking at the stands, this team needs as many die-hard

  8. Actually - apparently you are doing it. "Call him on his stupidity..." A personal attack on the guy. "Crossed the ridgeline.. promised land.. blah, blah". Declaring your view (a commonly held one here, we know) as absolute. (This is an SG special, isn't it? At least on his bad days. ) The guy was ranting. Some are blowing this out of proportion. Hopefully, I won't get smacked down trying to bring a different perspective to this. But here's what I know - "I'm done!!!!!" with the thread. Carry on, you best-est fans you. The O's are truly in your debt.

  9. You might want to check the box scores from the last 2 Orioles wins. Albers, JJ, Bass were unavailable today due to multiple innings. The idea of guys pitching one inning per outing did not originate with DT. The relievers arms are not going to fall off because DT wants to use 4 per game. The problem is our starters can not clear the 5th or 6th inning. It is almost laughable when people complain about to many pitchers used in a game and then when he trys to bring Ray back for what amounts to a second inning, people ask why let Ray pitch the 7th??

  10. Well once again you miss my point. I feel we need to be seriuosly competitive, if not contenders, next season. So my thinking is predicated on that. Next season we will have holes at 3B, 1B and DH if we trade Huff and Scott, and we will need a SS the following year. So I would not weaken the team by trading Scott unless I could fill one of those needs immediately. Salazar and Montenez are not adequate DH's in my opinion but I could live with them if I could get a good long term solution at 1B or 3B in return for Scott. I don't want to weaken the team short term by trading hm for questionable

  11. To be fair, Nettles hit a 3-run HR after the second intentional walk.

  12. Well I will let you be the judge on whether strategy deemed them necessary, but here were the game situations based on the game log from Bowie's website: Top 1st Inning: Score 0-0, Men on 1st and 2nd with 0 outs. Weiters walks. Top 3rd Inning: Score 0-1 (Bowie Leads) with 1 run already scoring in the inning, Man on 2nd with 2 outs. Weiters walks intentionally. Top 5th Inning: Score 0-2 with 1 run already scoring in the inning. Man on 2nd with 2 outs. Weiters intenionally walked. Top 6th Inning: Score 0-9 with 4 runs already scoring in the inning. Bases empty with 2 out. Weiters w

  13. Hahaha.. truth... I think I'm in the minority, but I've been 100% against Wieters coming up this year because a) I don't want to rush him and b) why come up and start the clock on a team that is most likely going to finish in 5th place in the AL East... However, this isn't going to help out his development if everyone is intentionally walking him every game...

  14. Gotta give the double A guys some credit, it took the single A guys twice as long to figure out it might not be a good idea to pitch to Wieters.
