wRC+ is basically to woba what OPS+ is to OPS. wRC+ is park and league adjusted, woba is not. wRC+ is also more intuitive. Basically, if you said somebody had a woba of .330, most people would not know how to relate that like they could to OPS. wRC+ is on a scale of 100, so somebody with a wRC+ of 100 is average in creating runs. A wRC+ of 110 is 10% better than average in creating runs, etc. Law isn't wrong when he says woba is great stat/input into the offensive WAR componenet, it's just that the actual input (adjusted woba) would be something closer to wRC+. One minor issue with wRC+ (at least fangraphs version) is that it includes a break even point for stolen bases (not the overall base running component). The break even point is 75% which probably artificially lowers some players value (although not significantly).

How would the police know? If I were severely depressed and thinking about committing suicide, nobody on Earth would have any clue. Some people just keep things to themselves, and it's those type of people that are too afraid to ask for help, even if they realize they need it. Telling people you need help means admitting that you're broken and opening yourself up for others to see. That can be more terrifying than death for some people.

They still would have, just they would have done it in Baltimore.

Absolutely not. Joe is allowed to work the market however he likes. If he is offered a contract he is willing to sign, then the Ravens would have a chance to match it under the non-exclusive tag. He doesn't have to accept any offer if none of them appeal to him.

"If" is not a good word and neither is "no." Top motivational speakers will tell you this. There are other words you can use that are more effective. They say you should never use these two words......people don't want to hear them.......but! Let's say the Ravens do what a number of people on here want them to do and they back up the truck for Joe and allow him to open his own bank. "If" they do this and he has less talent around him on the roster and the Ravens falter in 2013 and 2014 and.......if they do what many seem to want the FO of the Ravens to do how will Joe handle the losing? How did he handle it this past season? Early loss to the Eagles he was 22-42 and threw for 232 yards, 1 TD and 1 int with 2 sacks and a 66.8 rating. If he has another game like this at home how will the fans react? "If" Loss @ Houston 43 -13 he was 21-43 and threw for 147 yards, 1 TD, 2 int, 4 sacks and a 45.4 rating. "If" Loss to Pittsburgh at home he was 16-34 and threw for 188 yards, 1 TD, 1 int 3 sacks and a 61.9 rating. "If" Washington loss his numbers were decent.....16-21 for only 182 yards, 3 TDs, 1 int and a 121.4 rating. Loss at home to Denver he was 20-40 and threw for 254 yards, 2 TDS, 1 int and a 76.5 . "If" How will the fans, Mike P and the players respond "if" he has some bad games? The highest paid player in the NFL. "If" we sign him and he has bad games how will most on OH handle it. How will Joe? "No" hasn't been used yet in these comments. We don't like this word but Steve Bisciotti and the FO may just agree to say "No" to Joe and his demands. As they say often times in sports and the business world "we win as a team and we lose as a team." If 1/6 of your team salary is going to one player will win as a team and lose as a team disappear from our comments? and the players postgame comments? Will Suggs say after a big loss to talk to Joe? He makes all the money. I have said before I like Joe and have been concerned about his inconsistencies and lack of pocket awareness. "If" Jim Caldwell has cured Joe of these problems and suddenly Joe becomes the top QB our worries will be history and we all enjoy the benefits. "If" he reverts back and Jim leaves for a head coaching job down the road will everything stay the same for Joe? "If" "If" "If"? "If" Steve says "No" to Joe will we continue to win with Alex, Ryan or Matt? Should we really expect our next QB to win games for us heaving the ball 50+ yards down field? Caldwell knows about the middle of the field and you don't have to throw the ball more than about 20 yards over the middle linebackers to be successful. It's great Joe has the strongest ARM in the NFL. Do we need it to WIN? Will it change team chemistry?

i only saw the second half and felt like Tony a number of times but saw it through to the end. This was a pathetic loss and the coaching staff and players deserve each other. Poor efforts on everyones part. Is there a game plan when you get behind by more than 5 with less than 2 minutes to go? more than 7? more than 9? Why are we driving for layups that are getting blocked most of the second half and need several threes to get back in the game? Finally Aronholt starts firing them up again trying to get us back. We get back I believe to seven with the clock winding down under a minute and we are still driving for layups. Why? BC goes up by 4 and then 7 and no timeout? Finally 11...timeout. I may be off a little bit with these details but I'm pretty close. Who were our top two scorers against Duke on Saturday? If my memory is correct Len had 19 and Allen had 16. What would you expect them to score tonight. 10 each? Maybe?......4 each tonight. Really. Len looked like a guy that just walked on the court for the first time tonight. He could not make a lay up, he could not throw a pass without it being intercepted and was outrebounded on every play it seemed. Tallest guy on the court gets one basket and makes two foul shots. I asked after the Duke game for someone to tell me what Nick Faust did offensively in high school? Nobody responded so I guess nobody saw him play. If he doesn't transfer to Loyola I will be surprised. He can't dribble, can't pass the ball, can't score and often plays out of control. Almost every player has huge holes in their game. It's hard to watch. Dez Wells! What can you say about him. He smiles a lot......and he loves to drive in traffic against guys much taller who normally steal the ball from him or block his shots. Turgeon did not come out to talk to Chris on the postgame radio show. Not surprised! He really was outcoached tonight and got poor performances from everyone that played except Aronholt who scored 26. Wait! Don't give up....we are 18-8 and 6-7 in the ACC. The oddsmakers must love the Terps. You never know what's going to happen from one game to the next.

But then we wouldn't have had the money to pay Vlad.

Something that is being missed it seems in all of the Flacco discussions is how Steve Bisciotti feels about giving Joe a $20 million dollar contract. If you recall after the Super Bowl Steve was asked if he was surprised when Joe and his agent declined his 5 year $80 million dollar offer. Steve said when he heard they turned it down he went to Joe and looked him in the eye and said "Joe! Are you sure you want to do this and Joe said yes. Both Joe's gambled and basically won. Steve Bisciotti did not become a billionaire by making mistakes and he does not want to look bad in business deals. If they hold out for a big $20 million dollar deal for 6 or 7 years or $120 - $140 million dollars I predict that Bisciotti will opt for the non-exclusive tag and take 2 number one picks for him. There are several QB's we can deal for. Alex Smith signed a 3year deal for $24 million with 4.5 mill signing bonus - salary $9.75 mill in 2013 and $ 9 mill in 2014. Matt Flynn signed a 3 year deal last year for $26 million with $7.25 mill in 2013 and $8.25 in 2014. Ryan Fitzpatrick signed a $59 mill deal in 2012 for 7 yrs with a 10 mill signing bonus and $24 mill guaranteed with an $8.4 mill average per yr. All three could easily adapt to our system if necessary. The word is that Cleveland has talked to Seattle about a possible Flynn deal. The 49ers apparently have not had many people calling about Smith and Fitzpatrick has been in some recent comments coming out of Buffalo as possibly being available. Steve Bisciotti is the key. Is he going to let two Joe's win and outsmart him? I don't think he will. I'd like to keep Joe but we can't let the team crumble for one player. It's been mentioned that Suggs is supposed to get $13 mill, Ngata $11.5 mill and Flacco possibly $20 mill for 2013. That would be three players making 44.5 mill or more than a 1/3 of our payroll in 2013. It's not going to happen.
