Then he told the 3B ump "jk i knew it was a home run" I tapped, I talked, I conquered.

I think above all, I trust the Ravens judgement with this case. I'll yield to them. If they choose not to cut him, they must think they can work with him once they get him in camp. But if they do, they probably don't. They're much closer to it than any of us, and have the track record to be trusted with handling this appropriately.

Nice little Q&A with Hammel from the Fangraphs series. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/qa-jason-hammel-two-seam-evolution/

This is just for fun. I admit, I change my mind week to week. Anyway, just playing around and based on where we stand today, I put together a top 30 list. I didn't include Steve Johnson even though he qualifies technically. Feel free to disagree and tell me why. I had Gausman ahead of Bundy before the elbow issue, btw. Delmonico has made a great early impression but it remains to be seen if he's a 3B or a 1B. Hader had a great first start and looked more ordinary his next two but the scouting reports are still good. Marin has slacked off a bit but just holding his own as a 19 yo SS in full season is a good sign. Tim Berry, LHP, 22 yo, seems to be making a push. The scouts like him too. I probably have Ohlman higher than most but, if his shoulder allows him, I'm expecting a good season from him. A 22 yo catcher at Frederick with a good year would be impressive. Prospects on the decline? Mike Wright got hit around in AA last year, torched in the AFL, and getting hit around again in AA. Maybe he gets back on track but I don't think he's a top ten guy. Xavier Avery continues to make zero progress. He might even be regressing at Bowie if you look at his strikeout numbers. He looks like he needs an overhaul. 1. Kevin Gausman RHP 2. Dylan Bundy RHP 3. Jonathan Schoop 3B-2B-SS 4. Nick Delmonico 3B-1B 5. Eduardo Rodriguez LHP 6. Josh Hader LHP 7. Adrian Marin SS 8. Henry Urrutia LF-RF 9. L.J. Hoes LF-RF 10. Tim Berry LHP 11. Brandon Kline RHP 12. Michael Ohlman C 13. Glynn Davis CF 14. Zach Davies RHP 15. Christian Walker 1B 16. Mike Wright RHP 17. Xavier Avery CF-LF 18. Devin Jones RHP 19. Roderick Bernadina RF-LF 20. Wynston Sawyer C 21. 1959 called. They want their stats back.

I must be missing something. The Orioles are 12-9. They've scored 101 runs and allowed 90 runs. Their pythagorean W-L record is 12-9. They're 4-4 in 1 run games this season and their winning streak in extra inning games just ended. Is there anything so far that indicates this is a fluke season? Maybe, they're just a good team. Like during the closing stretch last year.

Hey, COC, I have three years board seniority on you bud. You need to treat your elders nicely! :laughlol:

So what in the hell does this have to do with the McClain case? There is little doubt there are idiot cops out there in this country, but just because there are some, that doesn't mean these cops were in the wrong. I hate this kind of sentiment. Here's the deal, when the cops tell everyone to leave, you don't stand around and try and get everyone against them by yelling "F the cops" then try and walk away. BTW, I imagine most cops don't want to do the paperwork and take a lot more crap then you give them credit for. And sorry, I don't believe for a second because you are black that every cop is going to treat your differently. That's a disrespectful and racist comment actually. When police officers come up to a large group, they are out numbered and could easily be overcome without coming out in a forceful way and ensuring everyone knows they are the authority. I've seen lots of instances where it appears the cops have gone too far, and I'm certain they have on occasion, but if I roll up on a large crowd and some 6-foot-4, 250 pound guy is trying to get the crowd in an uproar, I'm taking him down quickly as well. Even you agree that he deserves zero benefit of the doubt, so why the negative comment about the cops?

Hey Mods, can we just sticky a thread for ripping Jones so the board won't get all cluttered up? (only half joking)

I'm not saying they only care about on field action. But I think they care less than you think they do. That doesn't mean I'm all the way on the other end of the spectrum. I'm trying to point out that currently (arrest or not) McClain is an asset to Ozzie for the draft on our roster. If they can't get a ILB for value, they don't have to take him. If they get him for value, by all means good riddance McClain. There are times when we put up with stupid players doing stupid things because they bring something to the roster. McKinnie was stupid, and spit in the Ravens face for the opportunity they gave him by gaining a whole bunch of weight and not being in shape but they didn't cut him either. Honestly if they cut him I won't be upset, but the guy was what the 8th pick in his draft class? Just because I think there is a nuance to the situation and slightly disagree with the general public doesn't (a) mean I think you're wrong or (b) mean I stand for the opposite of what you're saying either. I'm not saying make him captain and I'm not advocating he make the 53 man roster. I'm just saying...there is no rush to cut this guy right now.

It seems there must be some underlying issue of which I am unaware ... I do not see any reason for such a personal attack based on the posts in this thread. Appreciate the advice on taking PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. Don't know how I managed to earn scholarships for a private HS in this area, undergrad and law school. Or managed to earn my BS, JD and admission to a state bar without your words of wisdom. Or managed to pay off two rental properties or have cash flow to pay off the mortgage on the house I inhabit ... all from a guy raised in a single parent household with no members of my extended family having earned a college degree before me. Don't know how I would make it through the day without your derogatory lecture though .... whew. Yeah you know me and have every right to deride me at your leisure. Very insightful. My view from the sidelines and the Ravens' enhancement of my bank account will not change regardless of R. McClain's tenure with the team. I choose to not join in on the rush to express indignant outrage toward that human. You choose to lambast me personally. Must be something else going on ... are you involved with law enforcement or the military? Hope it's not against the T&Cs to disagree with you ... hasn't been my intent to violate published rules, but candidly I have not read them to date.

I would like to see some kind of documentation of his long history - as I understand it, this is his third encounter with LEOs. One of the incidents (with the gun) sounds pretty significant. This current incident and the tinted windows incident are the only others to my knowledge. There must be something else I'm missing - if you can, please support the point and link to the info. Do you also think it's "utter nonsense" to hope Ozzie takes the step best suited to protect the team? Or is it "utter nonsense" to assert that not every police officer ever to wear badge has been completely 100% honest and forthright? Not exactly sure why you chose to be so aggressive in your response.
