  1. 6/25, Kyle Bradish, 5 IP, 10 K’s. First O’s MiL pitcher to strike out 10+ twice this season.

  3. Alex Wells pitched today in a game to that Akin and Wade could not hold down the Blue Jays. Wells pitched two scoreless innings and made it look like business as unusual. He probably faced a lot of those guys in the minors. Good first outing for Alex. Galvis hurt his quad running to first. Looked bad. I expect Urias will be up from the Tides. He and Valaika probably take over SS.

  5. Went to Bowie last night for the first time ever. -Baumann was mainly at 92-94. Think he hit 95 at least once. Line out started game and allowed lead off line drive HR to start 2nd inning. Rest of 2nd he looked good. In 3rd he imploded. Had no command at all. Stolen base off him as well as runner had huge jump. The defense could have helped as they didn’t turn a potential double play and there was an error. He allowed an 0-2 Grand Slam to Groshans. It was ugly. -Perez let up 2 HR’s after him. Did have 5 K’s. Groshans hit his second HR off of him. Allowed another HR on ball tha

  6. That comment is in response to a comment no one made. No one is saying that Adley should be promoted this season so that the O's will win more games this season. More enticing product to watch maybe. Would lead to better development for the player. Is the ethical employment practice sure. No one is saying hey if we promote Adley we'll win a few more games this season and that matters. I think the O's should do it because attacking worker rights is the wrong thing to do. I don't think they are acting in good faith. Just because he received a significant signing b

  9. It appears the Mayer and Lawlar will probably be gone by the 5th pick but Watson may still be there. Where do you think he ranks consider offense and defense ceiling vs the O's current SS prospects? Henderson, Westburg, Servideo, Ortiz, Grenier, Adam Hall? Who stays at SS? Inquiring minds want to know what you think.

  13. Urias not in lineup tonight fir Norfolk, so I guess that means he will be in Buffalo Sunday. I wish they would end this Urias, Valika, Ruiz, Wilkerson shuffle and let someone else like Lebya, Jones a look. Lebya has played plenty at AAA and no need to keep him there. He can play SS though not his main position. Valika is not a good option at short. If you think you need Urias to play short bring Lebya with him and let Wilkerson or Valika go.

  19. First of all, BS. Plenty of people are making the argument, including you, that the O's should have been more aggressive in looking to win this year. And when shown how signing FAs, or making trades, would have been pretty futile, the conversation then shifts into being more aggressive with promotions. Namely, Adley's. Would he lead to a better product to watch? Undoubtedly. Would it lead to better player development? We don't know that. And claiming you do is false. Is it ethical employment practice? Who are you? Cesar Chavez? The multi-millionaire Adley Rutsc

  20. What I don't understand is why people are jumping to the conclusion that these pitchers who have less than 100 innings in MLB are worthless roster drudgery. You can't expect instant results and you can't take instant results as indicative of future success. I think Elias and Co need to prepare these pitchers better, but it will also take adjustments by the pitchers to get there. Those adjustments don't happen between big league starts. They are adjustments that occur over the off season or when they are sent down to work on something. The problem is you can't do the latter i

  23. Just to focus on Lowther for a minute, the guy was Eastern League pitcher of the Year in 2019, no? I’m not basing my hopes for him on his prospect ranking in our system. I’m basing it on the numbers he put up in Delmarva, Frederick and Bowie. And that doesn’t mean I’m expecting him (or Kremer, or Akin, or Wells) to be a top major league pitcher. But there’s honor in being a credible back end starter. I don’t think that hoping 2 of those 4 guys could turn out to be that is asking that much. Meanwhile, Zach Davies has made 139 major league starts and has a 55-40 record and a 111 E

  24. It was one of the last parks built pre-Camden Yards. As soon as OPACY opened almost every park built in the last half-century was dated, especially the weird artificial turf domes like Tampa's and the Metrodome and the Kingdome. Unfortunately for the Rays the park was built to attract a team, their franchise wasn't awarded until a decade later when the new park boom was well underway. It was like your family buying you a car when you were six and putting it in the garage until you could got your license in the year 2000. On your 16th birthday you wake up and mom and dad say "surprise,

  26. Baseball America released their updated mock draft today. Has the O's taking Khalil Watson. "Baltimore is linked to all of the top four high school SS and it sounds like Mike Elias has spent some real time on Watson, who has a ton of heat late and is a real possibility to come off the board in multiple spots in front of this pick." At this point, I just want this to be over with.....

  27. My man, these are 45 FV level prospects we're talking about here. Most of them had hardly any AAA experience and have pitched in the majors this year. They 100% are not gaming their service time. They just aren't very good right now. Maybe they will be after some time in AAA. Maybe they won't. But what they are doing now isn't working.

  28. I mean most scouts seriously doubted any of those guys would be anything more than a 5 and dive/swingman piece. It's not exactly surprising to see them get lit up against great offenses like they have. The current wisdom on this board is that any prospect close to the big leagues should be up and learning here. Well....here you go. All of those guys besides maybe Akin should be in AAA getting starts on a regular basis. They are not ready yet and I don't see the purpose of having them get shelled every start.

  29. That may be to Elias's defense in one way, but what does it say about our pitcher development? I felt under previous regimes that we didn't always develop pitchers very well. Seeing Arrieta and others leave our organization and have success. Hearing Britton talk about how different the information and data he got from the Yankees was than with the Orioles. Seeing guys with big arms that never "got it" (Cabrera, Riley, Matusz, etc). One thing I felt for sure was that with Elias/Holt, THAT would improve. All the most modern techniques, tools, analysis, and teaching would be put

  30. I am onboard with the rebuild, absolutely. This team is absolutely terrible, aside from Means, Mullins, Mancini, Mountcastle, Fry and Galvis. Santander and Hays need to be on the DL. Everyone can see it. With young pitchers, there are ups and downs, but yikes! This is not a major league team, not even a bad major league team. We knew they were not good, but they played hard and things were looking up as improvement seemed evident. There was a major change, about six or seven weeks ago, when Chris Holt went on a mysterious leave of absence. It has been a nosedive ever since. I get the fee

  31. All these "fans" jumping ship are hilarious. Elias was very clear from the start that there would be a few lean years to shake out the dead weight. He's earned the right to see this through.

  32. Don't mind being bad- as stated, we are used to it- but this is embarrassment-level bad. My sister and I were going to attempt to go to one of these games in Buffalo, but to get jeered in my own town by a bunch of bandwagon Jays fans...not my idea of a good time.

  34. Now we just need to get Elias to pick one of them.

  35. None of the picks you cited were actually under slot much, if at all. And Elias was not here for those picks. He famously did that with Carlos Correa and the Astros years ago, and it was very successful. They were able to add the McCullers kid along with Rio Ruiz with over slot bonuses. Correa turned out to be worthy of being #1. And other teams behind the Astros wanted him as well. They just did not tell the publications this because smart GM’s do not tell journalists what they really think until after a draft. Many people in the industry were not surprised about Kjerstad, but the journalist

  38. He is one of the biggest mysteries in the minors for me. The Orioles really liked him and felt that he would go higher if last year was a normal college season. If he is a legit CF prospect, that’s enormous.
